What T bought me

I started a discussion here about how my friend T bought me something but he wouldn't tell me what it was until I got to his out the next time. Well I went to his house for supper tonight and he gave me my gift. He picked up one of those arms to get things that are out of reach. I was so happy. I am only 5 feet tall and I can't get reach the cupboards. I hope I can use it to reach down for things in the big freezer as well. Did you get anything useful lately?

Well, that was nice of him. Did you chase him around the house trying to grab him with it? (I would have done so.)

I cannot imagine what T gave you winterose. Can you get things in the cupboard using it? Is it with a battery?

it is a long poll with a hand that grabs things, yes you can reach up to places you couldn't reach before with it or you can pick stuff from the floor with it as well.

That's nice winterose, having an extended hand that could grab and pick up things. It will be helpful to me in scratching my back and reaching things on the top part of the cupboard, where some things are.

OH those are so helpful. Actually, a friend of mine was clearing out her storage space and gave me a wooden step stool. I think that's what you call it. Now I can reach those top shelves.

that is great, I have a small step ladder too, but I am just afraid of getting on it and falling.

OH yeah, that's what you call it. A step ladder. Duh me. Yes, it's quite scary to get on it especially when my shelves are really, really high. My son is 6 foot and he can barely reach the top shelves. So I have to get on the top step of the step ladder. SCARY!

That's so great! It's nice to get something, but especially if it is as handy as that.

I bought one of those things in a dollar store. It cost two dollars but, hey, it works! I've seen them for $10 so I'm rather happy that I got mine for $2. I used it right after my spine surgery on my neck. I had to be pretty careful for at least two weeks and I thought it would make life easier. Since then, I've had bouts of bursitis in my hips that make bending down all but impossible when it flares because it's so painful and I use my little grabber thing at those times, too. Wonderful tool for those who need it! Now, for getting anything useful lately, I just bought a new hand lopper for thicker weeds and thin branches on bushes and trees. I've had one for years now but it always seems to be on the wrong floor when I need it so I just bought another one today while I was in Tractor Supply which is a store that sells all kinds of gardening and farming things. I went there to get some feed for my peacock visitor and saw the loppers so I picked one up. It's already been very useful because there were some tall thistles in my front yard that needed cutting down and now they're gone.

Hopefully you get some good use out of it. I bought one for my son, that is in a wheelchair, but find I use it more than he does. I cannot think of anything that I have gotten lately.

That definitely sounds like a useful thing for you to have. What a great gift!! My friend Maryann sent me a beautiful homemade shawl in pink and burgundy, and it perfectly matches a burgundy sweater that I have. Hard to believe how some people can just read minds like that. :) I think it's great when someone gets something perfect like my shawl, and your reaching arm.

Fantastic! You are 4 inches shorter than my mom . While she was alive we got the same thing for her. It is fun to use. I'm only 5 inches taller than you and I had fun using it too! The most useful thing I got was a fan. My old fan Finally stopped. I went to Target but they were out of stock so... I let my fingers do the walking and ordered one at Target.com! It came to the house ! It was great!

Oh what a cool gift! my mom had one of those. She was only like 5ft 1". It helped her so much. My brother got it for her as she was always climbing to get things and always falling. She broke her hip 3 times playing acrobatic. It's such a cool gadget. The grandkids loved it and loved when she would let them try it out. very cool gift!

That's wonderful Winterose! My brother has 3 of those thingys. I wish I had one too. I'm 5/6 and shrinking. I used to be 5/7 and a half. I've shrunk to 5/6 and a half and now to 5/6. Before my life is over I'll prolly be 5/5.

That gift is very useful. I call them, 'Graboids', after the name given the under earth creatures in the movie, Tremors. I use my Graboid from time to time, but mostly I like saying, 'Graboid.' The useful thing that I just got is a tall faucet with a detachable sprayer on my kitchen sink. Now I can wash big pots! Before, the faucet was so low that I could not wash the big pots.

Those things are the greatest! I have several around the house, because I'm also only about 5 foot, but it also makes things easier to pick up off the floor!
