The ten directions are the objective environment. Sentient beings are the subjective self. Objective environment is like the shadow, and subjective self is like the body. Without the body there can be no shadow. Without subjective self, there can be no objective environment, even though the subjective self is determined and supported by the objective environment." On Omens; Nichiren Daishonin i was reading some the literature from the true Buddha,Nichiren Daishonin. the words are beautiful but i find it hard to understand the meaning. even if you do not subscribe to my belief, one could still gain some insight out of it. i was wondering if you could share your thoughts on what the subject self v the objective self is.

In deed, the words are beautiful. But I think most of us might not agree with it all.For we might think that subjective self is like the shadow, and objective environment is like body. Why do I say like this?Because I always think that without objective environment, there will not be subjective self.In other words, subjective self is based on objective environment.I didn't mean that subjective self is meaningless or determined totally be objective environment.Actually, subjective self is very important. The world is always there, but world in different people's eyes might be quite different.I'd like to see,the objective world is base, while the subjective self determines how to see the objective world. As Shakespear said, there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes.In a word,my idea is that subjective self is dependent on objective environment. What do you think of this, friend?
