Has anyone seen the television show Blackout?

I started watching this show called Blackout about a few weeks ago. I find it rather hilarious. It is funny seeing people go into a completely dark room and try to identify animals in cages or tanks by putting their hands in them and touching them. Sometimes it rats, bugs, snakes, and once it was just a wool hat. Sometimes they have to smell something and for the most part are things gross like a dirty sock, some ones armpit. People have also had to eat stuff or feel things with their mouth to identify it. Funny thing is they seem to identify most of the items wrong. Like cheese, how can you not know what that tastes like? Watching people freak out thinking something is going to bite them or vomiting when they touch a bug. Some of the toughest people turn into babies in this television show. Has any one seen it? What do you think about the show? Do you think you could take on the challenge?

What I don't understand is why the people on the show were willing to subject themselves to this, considering how frightened they were once the lights went out. Of course it's possible that the show screened out people who were not likely to be afraid.

Its because they can win $5,000 USD. I would do it. I would love to give the show a try. I am afraid of the dark but only have one fear and that is big bugs. I love snakes, rats, and etc. I have a great sense of smell so yes the smells would be gross but I think I would be able to identify most of the smells.

But if you don't act frightened, they probably wouldn't want you. $5,000 in the long run isn't that much money. It's a cheap prize and it makes the show and network seem cheap, although none of the contestants are risking their lives or showing a great deal of skill. This show is another reason I've come to hate the SyFy channel. What does this have to do with science fiction? They've started running all these 'reality' shows probably because they are cheaper to make than real shows. When they do run new movies they all seem to be about giant bug or out of control weather events. That's not really science fiction either. The run commercials saying how great Eureka is but then they are shutting it down with a short run season. Their saying is 'imagine greater' and I can and it's no longer the sci fi channel.

I agree with you with SyFy and other channels in general. Like animal planet used to be about animals and not animal patrol officers. Yes they show sad little dogs and cats but what happened to the documentary's I used to watch. I loved seeing and learning about different animals. The other shows are all depressing and sad with abused animals.

I believe I watched a couple of episodes of this show when it first started. However, I was turned off when the contestants had to smell someone butt. I thought that was the most disgusting thing ever. So I stopped watching it. I would not be able to take on the challenges because I would be afraid of what I was touching. If I was able to wear gloves then I think I could deal with it. Then again making them smell butt was just not right and I would not want to be in that perdictment.
