It's been a long time (at least, for me) since the trial for the impeachment of the chief justice Corona began. It seems like a good idea at first. But, as the days continue to become weeks. Things are starting to get pointless. Its obvious the senate are just using the trial to get public exposure, plus, money (one million per session is no laughing matter). So, don't you think its time that they put an end to this nonsense? I mean, come on! It wouldn't be a waste a time and money if only the senate are legally competent or at least leveled with Corona's team. Correct me if I'm wrong, this just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What's your take on this, guys?

Your opinion is yours but Atty Corona should not have been appointed as supreme court chief justice... it was really a (past) midnight appointment.

It's all part of Gloria's plan to evade cases filed against her.

Oh, I'm not defending CORONA or anything for that matter. I just think that they don't stand a chance against his team.

..then again, not all senators are lawyers, and even if they are lawyers they are also politicians. That's why I don't equate them with anyone. The only thing that they are different from the prosecution panel is that some judges remained impartial, which is my impression.

The entire proceeding, I guess has a lot of mayhem, media-wise that is, and considering that such a high profile position would be in jeopardy due to a lot sensationalized media blitz on it; politically motivated, ill-gotten wealth, blah, blah... In the long run, the outcome would, in terms of acquittal or guilt would sum up the present political situation, a grandiose prelude to the coming elections.

Oh my you mean, really that much per session. Well, that's our way of justice, if one wants to win in a case they must have enough money to spend aside from the expenses being incurred in the hearing of these cases which usually takes longer time are paid by the people's taxes. I also don't think that the senator judges used this opportunity to get public attention, it just happened that the timing sides with them for the coming election.
Let's just hope, they cast their votes according to their understanding or how they perceive the case after reviewing the evidences given by both sides.

Truth be told, I never really checked or watched any of Corona's trial. Why? Because I really think that it's just an avenue for some to make scenes and be popular for the upcoming elections. People are watching and whatever the politicians say or do during this trial, kind of determines where they stand in the Filipino's hearts. It's been months and a trial like this should only last for at least a week or so. But having it for weeks and months, it's not healthy for our economy and out status as a nation. If they have to impeach him or not, then they should do it now and not do any more delaying tactics just so that they get the TV exposure for free and to think that they get a million per session, wow, they could have made more difference with that huge amount of funds that we taxpayers pay for. It's disgusting.

I'm all for ending this drama because really, I never known that a trial could lasts so long. This trial makes me realize that I don't want to be a victim of a crime, it's too hard to deal with the law. And it's bad enough that there are too many people commenting on the issue, whether the said issue has merit or not.
And I hope that there will no sequel to this. Let me be clear - I'm all fro getting justice for the parties concerned but I guess it will be best if some factors like the media can be regulated. I say so because the media has the tendency to blow things out of proportion, whether for the defense or the offense. But that I think is wishing for the farthest stars.
I already concluded in my mind a long time ago that this will not be a legal trial, it's political and I know the senators what to save their faces for the next election. I just don't know if they have enough character to pander to the popular and not what is correct.
I am willing to bet that even after the trial, everything will be forgotten and o reforms will be made. call me a pessimist but that's pretty much what the situation looks to me.
One thing I learned from that trial is the people that will not have my vote in the coming elections. In that case, it's kinda a form of payback for government people on not doing their jobs. Heads will roll, one way or another.

You are right there, the impeachment trial has certainly gone long and very expensive for the Filipino people not only in terms of the money spend but the division it has created in society. Who then has benefited from this trial? Not Corona I suppose but the politicians who started posturing themselves during the trial to get the votes for the coming election. Will the senators give a fair judgement? There are so many factors that they have to consider including pleasing the powers that be and the greater majority of the masses who feels that having more wealth is wrong. One of the reasons why our country has never improved was due to politics. We never ever learned from our past mistakes and I am also one of the guilty one who voted wrong and had regrets. I just hope that after this impeachment, the senate will invest their efforts on the bills that they have not acted upon due to this impeachment. Whatever will be the verdict for CJ Corona, your guess is as good as mine.
