Nobody really knows what causes asthma, but the tendency to develop it frequently seem to be inherited.During the attacks, the airways become swollen, excess mucus plugs these narrow passages, and the muscles lining the airway tighten up.Children and adults may experience coughing ,wheezing, chest tightness, increase heart rate, perspiration and shortness of breath. Asthama is strongly associated with pollution. The incidence of asthama has risen sharply in the last thirty years, along with a rise of industrialization and higher levels of environmental pollution. Other possible causes of asthma in vulnerable individual include allergic reaction to dietary substances like wheat, dairy products, chocolate, nuts, preservatives and other chemical food and beverage additives.Asthma attacks may also be brought on by pollen, house dust mites, tobacco smoke, features and other allergens.Even temprature change,or cold morning air can cause a broncho spasm and increase the likelihood of an attack. In some individuals, anxiety can precipitate an asthma attack and stress, therefore,is a contributory factor. There is a strong hereditary link and asthma can often been seen to run in families.Children who lives in houses with smokers are also at higher risk for developing asthma at any time in their lives........

I think exercise is one of the good solution for asthma. It is can be better fell, if someone follow a healthy lifestyle which is involve nutrition (all classes of type food), exercising, stay away from smoking, drinking and some others. Honestly to tell that, every disease that we had because of we not take care on us, other else exist from genetic. All we must do is take a good nutrition food and do exercise. And of course follow doctor advise and description.

I lost my father three years back because of this disease..I saw him struggling to breathe..I cant explain the feeling..It is thought to be caused by combination of genetic and environmental conditions..Perhaps it is incurable disease, patient can only do, taking medicines regularly and avoiding the triggers..

Hi Cher913 ! Basically we see the asthama attack mostly happens in child & old age but in your case it caught since your adult age.So you should be very sincere and consult to your doctor as it may be cure with proper treatment.

Asthma is airway disease caused by hyperresponsiveness of respiratory tract. It is characterized by wheeze, cough, tightness of chest and shortness of breath. The causes may be extrinsic or intrinsic. In most cases there is a family history of asthma. Even emotional stress can trigger asthma. It is well controllable still not curable.

Yes its mostly hereditary . . As my father has asthma and my younger brother who is only 10 also suffering from its attacks . . Once I had asthma attack too . . We don't have carpets in our home , not even a single rug because asthma patients should avoid dust and dirt.

Hello Sarashahzad ! Yes you are absolutely right and there are other factors too which obviously increase the chances of attack that i wrote in my discussion. Take care of yourself as you got asthma attack once and try to avoid all that things which may lead asthma attack again. As we all knows prevention is better than cure.ThANKS Thanks to respond.

im not sure what causes it but my sister has it. I remember when we were younger, whenever she got really upset and cried for along time, she always had asthma attacks. I was not a pretty site to see, i use to hate to see her go thru that..i dont know wat it feels like to have it, but is sure doesnt look like it feels good. she would have to get one of those pumps to open up her lungs.
