Can anyone recommend a good pair of shoes?

Ive been thinking of taking up running to help bolster my health and weightless efforts, but I definitely need to get a better pair of shoes. Can anyone recommend a good pair of shoes? I'll be honest I'd rather not spend much more than $35 - $40 if I can. Especially since I'd be getting a pair for my son, so he can join me - he has Autism, and his food obsession is starting to out balance his current level of activity. Any help or suggestions would be tremendously helpful.

An experienced Marathon runner would probably recommend a different running shoe from someone who'd just go jogging, and you could choose from a range going from large mart cheap generic to air pump technology customisable with a fitness app gadget add-on or built in so your smartphone could tell you how fit you were getting.. If you're keen on starting running, maybe you'd be better off going to a specialist sports shop where they could measure your feet and advise you on the most comfortable and the best fit shoe for you, and give advice on what level of running you were aiming for..
