My dear mylotters, Way back 2010,I experienced the longest period of time of traveling.A nonstop flight for 15 hours.I considered It was an exhausting trip/flight I'd ever had in my life.I can't imagined how tired I am waiting for the the plane to land to my destination. I experienced jet lag and nausea within that hours.I feel very bored during that travel. How about you my fellow myLotters?In other transportation what was your longest period of travel? And how does it feel to travel that long period of time? Do you enjoyed that or feel sick about it? I'd love to hear from you..Have a nice day everyone!

The longest travel time I had was about ten years ago. At that time I finished my working in Trinidad,Caribbean. I took a BWIA air plane from Port of Spain to New York, it was February from tropic heatof Trinidad to snow world of NYC. I got a flu upon arrival in New York. I even infected an small hotel owner with flu in Flushing, NYC. After 3 days shopping and site visiting in New York, I have experience my longest journey back to China. I took AA air plane from New York to L.A and then I transfered to the united airline from L.A. to Shanghai,, I do not exact hours, and it maybe about 15 hours, when I reached Shanghai airport, it was evening time, and after supper, I went straight back to my hometown. When I reached home, it was in the early morning of the next day. I felt pain in the stomach after long hour traveling. I went to bed and slept for two days to adjust the jetlag.

The longest trip I have ever taken was 14 hours by car. Around 12 in a plane. I don't travel well. I am like a little kid always asking if we are there yet. I can't sleep when traveling, so by the time I arrive at my destination I am miserable.

some people said life is a journey, that was my longest traveling. I don't blame anyone but I want it twice (later) to be as Mr. George Soros ... or as Mr. Bill Clinton ... in free world, where I can meet girls and kiss her every time (see, in my latest life I did not dare kiss girl although I already passed my high school, and I have never kiss the woman I married before my wedding day...hahahahaaa... and that was my first experience in bed, after my 30 years of age (laugh)... sure !!)

Well, with what you are wishing for,hope you can have a girl you meet in your journey that you can kiss and you would experience how that kiss was all about. Thank you friend for sharing your thoughts.Have a nice day ahead!

Hello enola, Oh my 18 hours drive? That was a long distance trip and roadwork caused a lot of traffics. That was really horrible. I think you are right next time for that kind of trip rather take a flight more ease for you. Thank you enola for sharing your experienced here! Have a nice day!

The longest travel I had was way back in 2003 after I visited Philippines on the way back to Canada. Cathay Pacific that time was fully booked so I had to get the PAL. From Cebu to Manila its was 45 mins ride, and after that I had to wait 10 hours for my next flight to Vancouver. From Manila to Vancouver was like 16 hours plane ride. And when I arrived Vancouver, I had 6 hours waiting for my flight to Toronto. And from Vancouver to Toronto was 5 hours plane ride. I got so weak and sick that time coz I traveled alone.

Hello chicgale, Taking an aircraft for more than 5 hours is really a bored. Your flight from Manila to Vancouver is 16 hrs and another flight waiting to Toronto.That will be the total of more or less 22 hrs including Cebu-Manila. That's was long and exhausting journey. Myself rather cannot tolerate long trip as that but sometime for some reasons we have to take a long travel for something we really need to do. Thanks for sharing! Have a nice day!

The longest i went was a 14hr drive to the beach! I wasn't driving either, so i got to somewhat relax, it wasnt the most relaxing trip being cramed in the back seat of a car with bags and the baby crying in the car seat, that would be my little sister. This was about 3 years ago.

I have not gone to many places. I am a homebody! LOL The longest I have traveled was when I drove strait through to Alabama. I am in Michigan and I drove strait through. Non stop because I wanted to get there and my dad had sleep apnea so I would not let him drive at all. Now I barely drive at all since I get nervous. SO my hubby always drives and I just ride along. I always bring a book and my crocheting things so I dont get bored.

Where did you travel to and from on this long journey? The longest I have done is from Sydney and Brisbane in Australia to Los Angeles in the USA. It takes 12 hours to fly to LA, but it took 13 hours to return home. The flight over seemed very long as I did not sleep at all. We left here at 10am and got there at 6am, so we had the whole day to do again! By the time I got to bed the first night over there, it had been a very long day! I was pretty tired by the end of it. The trip home was better as we left late at night after a big day in LA, so we all fell asleep pretty easily. It was the first time that I had ever slept on a flight! This made the trip a lot easier and quicker. Also when we arrived home it was morning, so I was able to get into the day almost like normal with no tiredness.

Hello Rawbill, That was from Korea to Bangkok that 5 hours to be exact and from Bangkok to Sydney. I was a long journey. It was the same as you,I never slept within that period,after We landed in Sydney I have to drive 30 mins to home and that's made more tired. Its good that you can slept in your flight at least it can eased a bit of your boredom in the long flight. Thanks for sharing and Have a nice day!

Ah, you had a stopover. That can make a trip a lot longer. My flights were direct fortunately. I was lucky to get them as I had been looking at similarly priced flights which had stopovers in Auckland, Hawaii or Sydney which I did not really want to do.

Hi cloud: Some years ago. I guess it was back in 2007, my family travel to another city in the coast of my country. We travel by car but we enjoy our time visiting various cities. Our vacations last a whole month and it makes me smile remember all the places we have visited and the hotels where we stayed during these long vacations. I wish I could have the same trip. ALVARO

Getting into US from India is a long journey and so is a flight to Sydney from here as also getting into UK I have done that all and more but with stop overs. So I cannot say that I have had a continuous journey except the Sydeny Mumbai flight which was for about 15 hours.

good day cloud31, as far as i remember, the longest travel time i have had was 12 hours. almost the same as you have with only 3 hours difference. having that flight is quite a pain, as i find it difficult to stretch my legs on the place where i was seated. aside from that, it is quite difficult to get a sleep, as my seatmate during those time was snoring to loud, hence, it is annoying.
@cloud31 (5809)

Hello verolop, They did offered me a ginger ale and some kind of drinks.But sometimes what made me feel like that was my tiredness that can't get enough rest within that period. Anyway I hope it won't happened again and now that I used to it already so I can manage to travel even how would it be ..haha! Thank you for being here! And have a nice day!

The longest time I spent travelling was trips across the United States several times for my husbands job and a life change. I absolutely loved it each time. We drove over 2,000 miles each way and took smaller trips in between and we are still moving and taking smaller trips. I loved every minute of it as I got to see places I would have never seen had I stayed in my hometown. I feel much more in touch with the world having gotten a different perspective on others lifestyles. I cannot wait for when my children are a little older to take trips outside of our country.

Hello The longest trip I've made by aircraft was when I soloed for the first time in a Cessna 172. Even though the trip was barely a half hour, it seemed like it took forever!! The actual longest trip I've made by aircraft was in the 15 hour range, from the East Coast of the contiguous USA to Hawaii, USA. This is also close to the longest trip I've driven (by hours), a couple of times from East Georgia, USA to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, USA, and a few times from Southeast Georgia, USA to Canada. These automobile trips were from 14 to 18 hours, non-stop driving. I've taken some other long trips, but they were by foot and took several weeks.

Hello Page, I have the same hours longest trip by an aircraft and that was really hard for me to wake up the other day,I'm really so tired with that. But I think taking plane much better than to drive for 14-18 hours nonstop because we may not know the delay of its way. Thank you for sharing! Great day ahead!

The only really long flight that I have made was way back in the 1980s when I visited Russia. I decided to go all the way into Central Siberia in order to see something totally different. I flew from Moscow to Bratsk, which is a journey of around 3500 miles, but I am not certain how long the actual flight took. We stopped at Omsk to refueld, which obviously added time to the overall journey. I left the hotel in Moscow in the evening and arrived in Bratsk around 10 AM the following day, but there is also a 3 hour time difference between to two which makes it less clear. I travelled up to Irkutsk a few days later, so my return flight was Irkutsk to Moscow, which again is around 3500 miles. I did not consider it to be a tiring experience and have never experienced what people refer to as jet lag, although I am aware that many people find it an unpleasant experience to undertake along flight. I am probably just fortunate in as much as I enjoy flying.

I guess 15 hours of flight is pretty exhausting. I had a 10 hours flight last year, I was bored just like you during the travel, as there's nothing much to do in a packed Plane. I also traveled like 6 Hours by bus, from Singapore to Malaysia, but was not as bored as in the plane, since I was able to see these two countries scenery. Well, to answer your question now.. I did not felt sick about the travel by plane but it was really, absolutely boring and monotonous.

Well, speaking of my personal travel experiences, I can only say that the two longer trips that I made on means of transport were the following: In the year 2003 I went to Santo Domingo, for a total of 9 hours by plane. Last year, I went with my friend in Spain, I set off from Valencia to Seville by train, even here, the same medium, the beauty of the journey took 8 hours. But between the two cases, however I have always preferred to travel by plane, I find the most comfortable even when (and this we all know) less secure!

Hello alberello, That was quiet a long trip as well! Do you enjoyed them? I agree with you that traveling by plane was the safest travel ever.Comfortable and less bored than land transport. Thanks for sharing! Have a nice day!

The longest travel time I had leaving by boat from Cape Town to Southampton was two weeks, and another week on a different ship from Southampton to Montreal. The longest flight I had by plane was on Emirates recently where I sat on a plane from Cape Town to Abu Dhabi for fifteen or more hours and then another ten or eleven hours on another flight. I hate flying. My ears pop, my nose feel dry and my hair becomes static.
@cloud31 (5809)

Hello riempie, Two weeks it was long and that makes me sick,I can't travel by ship for more than 24 hours either. I have a ship travel trauma back when my mom and I have a cruise tour.I don't enjoyed at all,I can't stand the whole 24 hours just mainly lying down in my bed and sleep because of nausea. Another trip of yours was quiet long too, 15 hours it was the same as I had.You are right I also have popped ears when landed.It takes 2 days to relieved from jet lag. Thank you for sharing and Have a nice day!

Hi cloud!That was really a boredom travel u had experienced.Well, me, my longest travel was crossing the pacific ocean for 9 hours via a 50-seater boat.Oour destination was to Jomalig island,an island sitting near Polilio group of Islands,from Atimunan Quezon.After for hours of traversing the the ocean with those waves as big as our boat,I experience dizziness and I can't do anything about it so i just slept.That was the longest and worst travel that I had ever experienced.
