Reading glasses to protect our eyes

Yesterday an optical clinic made a free eye check up in our company. It was my first time to have my eyes checked and I was really anxious as to what the optometrist would find out. Luckily, my eyes are still in good condition and they told me that I only have to wear glasses for protection since my job always strains my eyes. I bought a reading glasses but I will be getting it only after 10 days since they have to create the lens fit for my eyes.
Have you ever had your eyes checked? Were you anxious of what they might find? What was your reaction when your doctor said you have to wear eye glasses? Were you excited to wear it? Or did you ever wear your glasses? Did it really made your sight clearer?

My eyes were myopia 5 years. I must wear glasses everyday when I ride motorbike or going out. I hate this. I wish I mustn't have the glasses on my nose!

Thank you for caring. However, I don't like the glasses. So, I leave it whenever I have chance :) I only wear it while I'm riding or going around at night.

I have been wearing glasses since my high school and up till now I will get my eyes checked once in a while. I do know that some people wearing it for reading purpose to protect their eyes. If one have more money they could have laser treatment to treat the eyes permanently but since I am comfortable with my glasses so laser treatment is not my choice for now.(^^)

I went the optician when I was 10 years old and got reading glasses. By age 18 years old my eyesight was worse and I had to wear my glasses permanently. I got contact lenses when I was 21 years old from an optician in Sydney. Those were 2 week disposable contact lenses. When I went home I had monthly disposable contact lenses. Now I have daily disposable contact lenses with a UV filter. They are perfect in sunny weather. I have a pair of glasses to wear when I get up in the night time.

i actually never experience to have a check up for my eyes since before, just checking only if my eyes still in balance,i mean they called it 20/20.and aside from that i dont like to wear eye glasses later on so i always keep my eyes safe and healthy.

I have glasses for reading. I have a sitmatism which means it is hard for my eyes to stay focused for long periods of time, but I actually work with a computer all day.. without my glasses I'd be completely lost. I really rely on them to be able to work all day without my eyes getting sore.
And when I do go awhole day without them, my eyes get really tired and itchy at night! .. So long as you pick really stylish glasses, they can actually enhance your appearance rather than making you feel like a dork haha. I'm lucky that I suit glasses.

I wish I'd look good on my glasses as well. I am kinda afraid I'll look old wearing that. I bet my colleagues won't mind since most of us will be wearing one soon after we had our eyes checked. I'm excited to wear my glasses, but anxious if it will suit me or now

I used to wear eyeglasses but I don't like to wear it outside. hehhehhe So, I tried wearing contacts and I stopped also. And 2 months ago, I went to my opto to have my eyes checked again and the grade went high. So, I need to get a new glasses soon especially that I couldn't see well when I'm driving at night.

I'm afraid that I will one have problems with my eyes since i work in front of the computer everyday. My eyes strains so much from reading and looking at my screen and it really feels sores when I get home. I hope this glasses I'm about to have will really help me with the load so I won't feel the strain anymore. You really should be getting those glasses or contacts soon so it can still be corrected
