Hello fellow mylotters! I just read this as i was browsing the internet and i really want to know what everyone thinks regarding this sentence. "THE TIME OF UNREQUITED LOVE IS THE HAPPIEST". I haven't fallen in love before so I'm confused. Isn't it supposed to be heartbreaking?

I have seen a lot of movies, and i think that is a false statement.. since unrequited love hurts.. especially if the person you love is totally ignoring you or treating you badly. and even loving someone else.. That just hurts..

Yeah, i feel fr the person who doesn't get the response he or she wants from the other.. some of them are so likable , that i really get upset with the movie or drama if they don't end up with anybody.. they also deserve to be happy.

I see! i agree with what you said that it really hurts as what I've seen in movies and read in anime mangas. Even though I haven't experience it, i can totally feel their pain. Anyway, thanks for the response=)

I don't know where you have found this quote, but the worst time in my life was spending four years as somebody's best friend when I just knew that I wanted to be more. He never liked me in that way, but he was always happy to keep giving me false hope by being flirtatious with me. I don't know what he thought he was doing, but I hope he knows just how much he hurt me over the course of those years. I don't think that there is anything worse than loving somebody who won't ever love you back; as it just made me feel hopeless about everything.

I got it from a manga page that is posted on tumblr. Are you still friends with that guy? Have you tried confronting him with your feelings? And yeah, I think the same way too! Its really heartbreaking but thinkingoutloud told me that being in love is a happy thing! Its the post above you.

I think I would interpret that sentence to mean that, during the time a person is in love, although unrequited, they feel so happy. They desire someone... they are thinking about them all the time, wanting them, constructing scenarios in their mind where they will someday be together. It's one-sided but they feel truly in love and are pursuing the object of their affection. So I suppose, at that point, they are still very happy. But, as you've said, it does reach the point of being heartbreaking because unrequited love is love that is not reciprocated. The two never become one.

Oh! thank you very much! i understand it a little now. So, its the "experience" or i should say journey of falling in love that is a happy thing! I never really thought of it that way. I just thought of the outcome which is unrequited that's why i said, for me, its heartbreaking and not happy.
