Former south African cricketer Hansie Cronje died in a mysterious plane crash on June 1, 2002. He was a great player and a great captain of all times. I believe he has a great role in rising the south african team in to one of the great team and a team feared by every opponent. Cronje has often been hailed as a brilliant leader of men who lost just 11 of his 53 Tests as captain and won 99 of the 138 one-day internationals at the helm between 1994 and 2000. But he showed his ugly side in 2000 when he admitted to accepting bribes from illegal bookmakers to influence matches and he was banned from the game for life in 2000. He was voted the 11th greatest south African player despite of his ban from the cricket. But what i really want to ask is whether the next generation say about him. Will it be a great cricket captain of all times or a man who spoiled the spirit of cricket?

He was a cheater and brought shame to the game, apologies but on personal level i dont have any respect for him or any other match fixer .For some SA fans he may be great player still but he is a black spot on cricket and nothing more.
