Hunting...What Is Your Opinion?

Here In Missouri, everyone is going crazy over deer hunting. I myself don't care for it, but if they enjoy it that is fine. I do have to say though, that I have seen some pretty disturbing things since hunting season began. Deer carcasses thrown into the roads with thier antlers stripped from thier heads,and deer legs thrown in ditches. Last year I saw a deer that had been totally stripped of it's skin and then dumped on the side of the dirt road right next to a stop sign, took it a couple months to rot..a total waste of a animals life for nothing! DON'T GET ME WRONG-I have nothing against hunting itself, but when people have such disrespect for the animal, tossing it around, cutting into pieces and throwing it out thier car window, I just can't be happy with that. So here is the deal, I need to here from some other hunters/non hunters out there. I would like to know others opinions on hunting, why they do it, whatever. I am not out to judge anybody, I just am trying to understand it more. All of you please bear with me. I have not lived here in the Midwest for too long. I was born and raised in California and was just never exposed to hunting in the least! I'd say the closest I ever got was going fishing. I am wanting to understand the hunters out there. Until I can, I don't know if I can ever get used to being here..
