Two of the managers of promoted clubs from last year, Brendan Rodgers of Swansea and Paul Lambert of Norwich have got big moves up based on great performances of their teams in their first season back on the top flight. Brendan Rodgers taking over Liverpool after famously rejecting the interview call was a bit of a surprise. Lambert on the other hand had a till with the Norwich management and took over Aston Villa. Is this just reward or did Liverpool and Aston jump the gun based on one good season? Promoted teams usually struggle from the second season onwards after having a good first season due to the enthusiasm of the promotion. What are your views? Cheers! Ram

You have to tell me. Is this a good move. Will Liverpool be better? Or Worse?

What happened with AVB and Chelsea? if you see it as a mistake , then I agree with you. I trust your judgment.

Oh! you already forgot last season :). Last season AVB (Andreas Villas Boas) was appointed the coach of Chelsea and then Chelsea FC started having a bad run and finally he was sacked. His deputy took over the club and Chelsea went on to win the Champions League and the FA Cup!! Cheers! Ram

No doubt, that Rodgers has had two great years with Swansea. First year he won them the promotion and the second year he showed a great performance in the top flight. But are these two achievements good enough for Liverpool. I do not think so. I fear this could be another AVB situation with Chelsea as last year. Time will tell though. Cheers! Ram

welcome to anfield and villa park.. maybe it is the surprised that both of the team choose unfamous people as their coach.. i think liverpool want to take Louis Van Gaal or maybe AVB as their coach.. Who is the real brendan rodgers? iam not sure that i know him exactly..but i think liverpool management had considered from many perspective before recruiting him... Aston villa coach position is always linked with roberto di matteo and Olle Gunnar solkjaer.. Who is Paul lambert ram??i had no record about him...

Brendan Rodgers helped Swansea which is a small English club earn promotion to the top flight last season. In the EPL, this season he won the hearts of a lots of people with a free flowing football that Swansea played which at times reminded of how the old Arsenal used to play. The highlight of their season was of course their victory over Arsenal where they outplayed the Gunners in their own game. As a coach he won a lot of hearts last season, but is he ready for such a big club based on these two years success stories. Paul Lambert helped Norwich to earn promotion to top flight last season. Again in the EPL, Paul led Norwich to a 12th place finish which is one below Swansea. Again the brand of no-fear football that Norwich played won a lot of hearts last season. Cheers! Ram

There is always the element of surprises that teams who got promoted brings with them. Once the novelty wears off, those teams will struggle in the league. While Swansea and Norwich should be lauded for the kind of soccer they played, the acid test will come next season. So the likes of Rodgers and Lambert, they should stick with their clubs for at least one more season to see if they are the right material to manage top clubs. Lesson to learn. For every Jose Mourinho, there is always a Andre Villa-Boas.

Exactly my thought process. In fact, the first thing that came to my mind was AVB. At least Aston Villa, the expectations are a bit less, but at Liverpool the expectations will always be high. So this is really a tough ask. Cheers! Ram

I think Liverpool sure can improve their performance better Than last season. However they still best team, where win a Carling Cup and Reach Final in FA cup. This is a big achievement for them actually. Brendan Rodgers of Swansea that associated with Liverpool now is also very talented person that i think. They just brought a good performance of Swansea club to play well and recently transfer to Liverpool.

But do you think that one season is good enough to judge Brendan Rodger's potential? Cheers! Ram

The season that Brendan held at Swansea might not be enough to give the big task as Liverpool but I believe I can deliver with Liverpool. But some players are also leaving Liverpool such as Kyrt. Can Liverpool a replacement for him? Lets watch and see Brenden

Yes, the key reason for the sacking of Kenny Dalglish was poor transfer business. The players he brought in simply did not play at the level expected at Liverpool. So that would be the first key for Brendan Rodgers. The good thing for him is that he can check out the players at the Euros to figure out some good buys. Cheers! Ram

Brendan Rodgers might do well than Kenny. Kenny gave Liverpool the worst league standing in recent years and not close to champions spot. Rodgers got a big move but I do not think that Paul Lambert got a big move from Norwich which was placed than |Aston Villa last season. Aston Villa has been a big name in premier league but last season was worst for them. However, we will see their contribution to the league and their respective new clubs next season

Yes, Aston Villa was lower than Norwich last season. But overall in fan base and in standing Aston Villa is a bigger club than Norwich. So in that sense it is a step up for Paul Lambert. Cheers! Ram
