i typically ride the bus home from work and now that the weather is getting warmer, you see all sorts of fashion 'don'ts' and today i saw a big one (pardon the pun). This lady was rather large and definitely on the plus side and was not wearing a bra. i have to say that it looked rather um, awkward. last week, i saw this oversized teenager who was stuffed into short shorts and a tight shirts. do these people look in the mirror before they leave? do they not care or do they think that look all that?

Hi cher, I have seen plenty of people, men and women, ful figue and skinny who have not dress appropriate in my eyes...But I only thought that in my head and I have to say that I hear your complaint, but I also realize that everyone can't dress like me...and as long as a person dosen't infringe on me I have learn to just look away if I don't like what I see...I am sure there was something about me that others dosen;t like also... Life would be so much better if we just let people live theirn life as they wish and did not have to expect the approval of everyone else in the world... When I see things I don;t like I just look away.I think people whon live in glass houses should not throw stones...and we all live in glass houses....

oh bjc66bjc, if only everyone in the whole wide world ever had your compassionate and empathetic attitude! yes, we do all live in glass houses, they just might be made of different kinds of glass....for instance, suppose we do look perfect and are dressed perfectly at all times, but are mean, heartless and cruel...yes, life would be better if we just let people be and didn't all have to worry about approval...thanks for your pithy comments!

Hi psychoastist, thats exactly what I am talking about. we will never all look alike, and I don't recall referring to anyone in this world as looking perfect and sorry if thats what you concluded by my comment. and the same way that we will never all look alike nor will we all never be nice to one another or respect each other seeming heartless and cruel. You actually made my point...the world is comprised of many different people and many different looks.. do you actually live your life as an approval of others and if you do, do you actually believe that everyone like who you are everyday and like what you are wearing...or do you look in the mirror before leaving home with an approval from ourself and if others don't like it ...to bad!!! that all I am saying...

I wonder about that sometimes. First of all, Walmart has cheap bras that can fit women with huge boobs. So the lady on the bus has no excuse. As for people who are heavy that wear clothes no big people should, I wonder sometimes if they are in denial. Like if they can wear something like this, then they really aren't that big. Then there is the slight possibility, especially when we talk about guys, that they simply do not care. This occurs to me often when I see a skinny girl wearing jeans, with her G string showing at the base of her back.

the young girl is doing it for fashion she wants to look just like her friends Now the lady it could be a number of reason, she might be dressing for comfort she may have never worn a bra and never believed in them and so on

i think they just dont care. some seem to think big fat parts showing is sexy or something. or maybe they dont realise how fat they are. i used to wear shorts to work cause its so hot here. then one day a friend took pics of us at the house of people i worked for. i couldnt believe how fat id gotten. i quit wearing shorts out after that. its just gross.

I'm sorry you think you shouldn't wear shorts just because you have weight on you, or have gotten older...if you think your body is so awful you shouldn't show it, that's kind of sad. Nobody else should judge you but you, and I think comfort is very important as well. By the way, some people actually do find bigger people in less clothing (think shorts or tank tops or even, gasp, bathing suits!) attractive. attraction isn't universal :P

Some of them want the attention and have poor self esteem. Now Im not big all together just big uptop at a DDD. I wouldnt step out of my house not wearing a bra. I usually wear a sports bra if Im just lazying around the house. I mean when i use to work midnights and I never wore a bra around the house thats when everyone showed up. I was so embarrassed as they certainly arnt perky like people think they should. I knew a girl I use to work with who was well over 400 pounds she wouldnt wear a bra either. Not because she didnt want to but because she couldnt find one her size. She use to wear one that was 6 times too small (not joke shes suppose to wear 50 band size and she was in a 28) how she did it was beyond me. If we went out she would just wear a top like a strapless or something thats really tight so it wasnt noticeable but because she was so big you couldnt really tell. Now if I walked out braless I think everyone who walked by would notice.

hi cher913! of course being hyper-ultra sensitive to the aesthetic the psychoartist is empathetic to your plight...up to a point...perhaps these oversized/ overstuffed people are not able to afford new better bigger clothes? perhaps they do not realize how they look because they may be suffering in some way, emotionally, etc, and their minds are completely bogged down with survival...perhaps they are aware that they are oversized/overstuffed and are in denial of that problem as well...so many people live in painful horrible situations it is such a bad idea to be judgemental because one day, we also may be wearing those oversized/overstuffed shoes....

Well, the biggest problem is they are seeing Celebrities on like Emmy's, Grammy's etc. who are wearing the Low cut outfits and thinking this looks ok, and so they try it, or they will wear something making everything hang out, and think it is Fashionable and maybe even Sexy, and makes you think "How Grouse." Personally I wish there could be a Fashion Police who could really help these type of people dress, and see for themselves people do not appreciate this kind of look and tired of being groused out.

I saw a gal at my client's apartment complex that was wearing too tight cut off "Daisy Dukes" and her shirt rode up. She had a roll of fat over the top of the shorts... Fat as I am, I know better than that!

Count yourself lucky she wasn't topless as well... it is legal here in Ontario for a woman to take her shirt off in public.

Good day my friend cher913, I was recently in Las Vegas and I couldn't believe the bathing suites these huge women were wearing. And I mean huge, 250 lbs plus women, wearing bikinis that showed everything. You couldn't tell where their boobs started and where their stomachs ended and so on, for the roles were numerous. And a lot of them undid their tops when they layed down on their stomachs so their boobs hung out the sides of them. It was so gross. I think these women should wear bathing suites that cover more of their bodies. But I guess some women don't care, as the when you are talking about on the bus. I am not a big person by any means and I won't leave my house without a bra on. I think it is disgusting for me not to wear one. You have a nice day my friend and talk to you again soon, Chris

Oh my gosh! This reminds me of one nanny I saw at the Y in my 2 year old's mommy and me class. She is a big woman - which we all know - but last week she wore this dress thing with a wide open front. When we talked to her, you couldn't help but notice her HUGE chest - it was so open that you swore those things were going to pop out . . . and I mean it looked like that top did not support her at all even if she pulled it up a bit.

I think they should have a second look in the mirror to be dressing that way. I don't think they could possibly see themselves as cute or sexy in clothes that do not fit. I know this girl that wears jeans 2 sizes to small for her (her love handles hang WAY over the pants), just to say she is a smaller size than what she is! To me, that makes no sense and it is does NOT look cute either. I would rather admit my size than look terrible in what I'm wearing. Just saying...

Hello cher913 Would you rather see them going about topless, or wearing clothes that aren't flattering to their figures?

I want to say that it doesn't matter what people wear as long as they feel comfortable but.. I doubt clothes that are too small and not wearing a bra feels all that comfortable so I can't really imagine a reason why someone would dress like that, it should be quite obvious if something's too small for you.

I am not the skinniest person ever but I am not overweight either but what drives me nuts is the ones that wear jeans shorts and a tank top and the large muffin top oozing out from under their shirt over their shorts.!.!.! Really? Like you said do they look in the mirror or even own one???

I work at a college and I see alot of that! I don't what people think! Maybe they don't care. Maybe they were told they look good in those outfits. Maybe they really think they look good in those types of outfits! I am plus size and once in awhile I just don't feel like wearing a bra! maybe this woman just wanted to be free,if you know what I mean.

Our society are going to more and more un-expecting things like what you said. Who will be blamed to that, parents, society, media, government, people around us or ourselves? Those are the eyes of everyone whether praising or pushing down. This discussion is depends on the person perception...
