Is this a paradox that there a lot better health facilities than centuries ago, more health education and awareness ,more drugs and yet there are a lot of diseases and more chronic. People of centuries ago live longer into 3-digit years and healthy than people of this days. We are more disposed to technology and science which they did not have but yet we cannot be compared to them in their generation. I still do not understand why terminal illnesses are more common than our days. Where is this generation missing because I think we should be living longer and more healthier than previous generation. A question begging for answer.

I believe it's really not that way, that people are more healthier centuries before than now. People from long time ago can easily die out of an illness which is now simply cured by antibiotics and such. When there are epidemics they simply die. You may mean to be talking about strong and healthy kind of men and women who had simple lifestyle, yes they exist. I know of old people today who reached up to their 90s and even 115s. But i think they are rare. It's true, we have an overwhelming lot of health issues in this generation. The advancement of technology and industrialization which makes life and health easier and better also paved the way to the destruction of life sources that preserve our ecosystem. There was this theory that the human body and every living thing is connected with with the earth, and it's destruction could also lead to those which ails our bodies.

Yes, laziness also do causes some illnesses which could have been preventable, or at least should no be like an illness at all like obesity, stress..etc. Also advancement of knowledge is a factor. The process by which technology that make its way through has caused damage to our ecology/environment which in turn affects our health. Take radiation from uranium that is used in nuclear plants for example... from television, computers, etc.

I'm quiet sure that it's not health education and healthy facilities that caused more diseases in the current era . If there is a cause and effect relationship between the two sides, I personally tend to think is this way: The increasing occurrence of diseases push the societies to have more health educational institutes and to build up more quality healthcare facility. What do you guys think?

That's a good idea. We human beings are only trying to discover solutions to problems that afflict us. There may have to be factors other than man-made technologies which cause illnesses not present before in the olden times. Though it's true, our increasing knowledge, technology, and likewise industrialization and everything man made have led to widespread changes from all the corners of the earth towards the atmosphere... but also it must not be forgotten that the earth is naturally changing too. The transition from the Ice Age to the current temperature that we now normally have, volcanoes erupt, new kinds of bacteria are introduced, viruses mutate..

We have extensive cures and treatments for short-term illnesses and infections, but our overall lifestyle habits are causing more chronic illnesses. Technology has encouraged us to be lazier, and fast-convenient food sold on good taste has made us make unhealthy eating choices as a whole. Therefore, conditions like obesity and heart disease are common and keep people from living to the fullest. I don't think technology innovation is inherently a good thing and will help us in the future, I think a large portion of it causes bad things to happen to us, such as causing this sedentary lifestyle we're all so used to.
