Promote??

Okay so I want to promote a website but I don't want to spam anyone here or anywhere for that matter. so the question is do you guys know any good non spamming way's of promoting a business website or any site for that matter?

The best way on My lot is to add people as friends and if they are interested in other sites to send them a private message. That is how I got referals on other money making websites while still abiding the My lot rules :)

Oh yeah that's true yes, but what if for example I wanted to promote mylot, i mean there is good potential for money here and it's fun:)
Do you know of any free ways to promote mylot?
