Hi mylotters,I am currently learning rhythm gitar and I have a question about it.My teacher is teaching me only finger picking exercises and I found this a little bit difficult and I do want to know how to strum rhythm gitar?

It's important to know the pattern of notes which make up a scale in any particular key because that leads on to the understanding of chord shapes. You can buy yourself a book with all the chord shapes and learn them but unless you understand how they fit with the diatonic scale, you won't really understand what chords to use for a song.
