Given Michael's past and his time in jail how can he be DA

I know that a long time ago Christine, who was his victim, helped him get back to being able to practice law. But that is a lot different from being the District Attorney. They should have at least have brought it up and given a explanation about him being allowed to be D.A. even if it was to summarize the old stuff and explain that it applied to him being allowed to be D.A.

They do that kind of thing often though. If someone comes up with a story line that contradicts anything in a previous season they don't explain. I remember Nicholas going from a 5 year old to an 18 yr old and Colleen going from a precocious 5 - 6 yr old to a teenager. There are often inconsistencies in these shows...but you know that.
