This is apparently going to be the life of the first colonist who will be sent to Mars.
You will stay in a very small habitat, Its a very slim container shelter with the oxygen and pressure you needed to stay alive. You will be stuck with the same 4 to 6 people in the next 2 years, Until the 2nd batch of people gets there.
The habitat where you will be very small, so yeah there is going to be a feeling of Isolation. You will still have communication on earth though.
Unlike the Moon Space suit, Mars spacesuit is badass and cool, Its going to be a skin tight suit, Kinda like what the Power rangers wear, Mobility is needed in Mars, so unlike the moon astronauts you can run and do physical activities in your space suits,
exploration and research is also part of your daily life.
---
Diet, Nasa already figured our how to do Gardening in Space, so You will be forced to endure a Vegan lifestyle. No meat for life.
Last but not the least, you will have a psychological theraphy via video chat with a psycholist so you can keep your sanity intact.

Veggies grown on Mars are perhaps good, but I am not ready to be a pioneer. I think I will wait until the colony will be important enough to see more than the same 4 or 5 faces everyday
. And I want a better space suit, because I have read that the average temperature on Mars was -55° C and was exceptionally reaching 20° C at noon : a skin tight suit is not enough for me

they want 4 strangers, so nothing incestiouus will happen I guess. Its a slow population growth, Imagine only 4 new faces every year. I think conflict may happen cos you know there could be a rivalry between the first batch and 2nd batch. I think they want 4 people from different countries as the first batch.

I think its skin tight but it has pressure and its warm. Its a lot slimmer than the bulky moon space suit. I think they will prioritize casting or picking single people who a re not in a relationship as astronauts.
I dont know how seeing the same faces over and over again going to work, its just weird. I wonder what will be their form on leisure and entertainment.

Well this may just be suitable for those that are loner or introverts. They might actually enjoy it there. But for those that are used to earth lifestyle then I guess they may have to wait for quite sometime when Mars can accommodate the lifestyle of earthlings.
I am just wondering what those first colonist would act when they have the chance to return to Earth. I guess they will be culture shocked after being in an isolated planet.
Vegan lifestyle might be a good lifestyle change for me. I think I will be healthier there without the usual meat and sweet kind of foods. The only thing that scares me there is if we can really sustain production of food vs. the colonist needs. Sometimes it needs a little of playing with economics in there. I guess everyone will live in a communist like economy there where everyone will have fair share of what they produce and contribute to the colony.

Life there will really be hard. But I think it is possible for people that are really looking for a life of solitude. They are more like monks. Another thing that makes me curios about it is the relationships building since there are only 6 that will be there. We as biological beings would mean that hormones would surge overtime so there will be moments that we need to procreate since it is a biological needs that we need to satisfy over there. So I guess it needs to be pairs when you go there so that life would not really be lonely after all.
If that happens then there would be problems arising like caring for your first Martian babies. LOL!

I heard that because of Mar's lower gravity, Babies might get taller and skinnier (not by body fat content but body form) than the earthlings. so yeah the babies who will be born there are going to be martians and they might evolve based on the environment they will have. You know what I consider sending an audition tape cos the casting process is global. I just hope I can handle vegan lifestyle.

Loners and introverts will enjoy the silence and peacefulness in that planet named after the God of war. LOL Can you imagine waking up in the morning, wearing your space suit and look at the orange sky, then the very small sun. Your task will be gathering specimen liek rocks and water samples. Then go back to the shelter.
apparently its one way ticket, people to be sent to mars will be there to stay.
Their reason for the vegan lifestyle is that they will be so lonely there they will be emotionally attached to the animal and wont be able to kill it.
well they can at least have a pet chicken and just keep her for eggs. They dont need to kill her.
Or they can have a pet goat and keep her for milk. But they think Its better for the Astronauts to be Vegan.
The fact there will be no money there, mars is going to be a communist.

Wow, is this really going to happen?
If it did I don't think I'd be able to be there. I'd be too worried something would go wrong with the oxygen and food. I also wouldn't want to be stuck with the same 4 people, especially if they're strangers. It would help if my boyfriend was there with me, he's the one person I wouldn't mind being around 24/7. But it would really suck not to be able to enjoy all the fun things of Earth. I think I'd rather let other people be the first on Mars and maybe one day I'd just visit lol!

there are already plans,NASA wont be the one though, The ship and shelters is now under construction. I think martian exploration will be a 1 way ticket for now. It cant be a tourist destination for now cause it takes 2 years to get there and it takes 6 years to return to earth.
we dont have the technology to get there faster. yeah sleeping at night will be disturbing, You dont know how safe are you inside the shelter. Maybe if there is internet there, life will be less boring.
what do you think of being forced to have a Vegan lifestyle?

I don't think I could do it lol. Especially the vegan lifestyle. I need to have my meats, dairy, and eggs. For me, it would be hard to only eat fruits and vegetables and not be able to go out to eat at a restaurant every once in a while. It would be a huge change lol

Its cool to be called a Martian though... Aside from the vegan lifestyle, you will have to wait for the plants to grow before eating them. Basically they will start with canned foods and preserved foods while the plants are growing.

? They should better send a family on Mars. I don't think that normal people can stand years together without serious problems. It will make a good reality show
