Keurig Machine

I have the new Keurig coffee machine and I love it. But - and there is always a "but" - if I am going to be home for awhile and will be drinking a few cups of coffee it is real expensive to keep making a cup at a time. Because of this I have my old coffee pot out on the counter too. This way I can brew a pot for those days when I am home for an extended time and want to drink coffee. How do you handle this? Don't you find it expensive with the Keurig?

I don't have any coffee maker. We are not much of coffee drinkers there are two of us, and my son may drink two or three cups a day and I may have one cup or none at all during the day. I was wondering if the keurig or tassimo would be good for us.

They are both pretty expensive to operate. I would stick with a normal pot.

After comparing the Keurig with the Tassimo, I opted to get the Tassimo. I find it works well, and is slightly cheaper than the Keurig. I love my Tassimo. For me, it's not really an issue brewing one cup at a time because I usually only have one cup of coffee in the morning and that's it. Occasionally I'll feel like having another cup throughout the day but that's rare. I don't even own any other coffee pot. I can see how it would become expensive if you like to drink several cups a day though. Good idea to keep your regular coffee pot just for that reason.

There's a filter you can buy that you put into your Keurig with whatever coffee grounds you prefer. It's about a tablespoon per cup, I believe. That way you get the freshness of the Keurig with the cost of a regular coffee pot. Personally, we just use the k-cups, but we buy them at costco so it's an 80 pack for about $30, so it's about 37 cents per cup versus $7 for 12 k-cups at the grocery store which is about 58 cents a cup. I also watch out for deals and coupons on coffee, and of course if it gets to be too much, we do have the filter if we need it.

The coffees for the Keuig are easy to find. My parents and my brother use this machine for coffee all the time because of their different schedules. I know that most grocery stores sell them and there is a store called Big Lots that sell them as well.
