Best way to learn playing a guitar?

Glad to see you want to play guitar! I am self taught and have been playing for about 10 years. Wow time flies! It really helps you that you can play piano. If you know the notes or any theory. It will help you understand the instrument easier. But really the best advice I can probably give you. Is to be patient. You won't learn everything over night. It takes time. Don't give up! Be persistent. Just play! Before you know it you will make sense of it all. But it will take some time. Try playing along to your favorite songs. If you struggle with that, try using tabs online, or even watch some videos on youtube. That really helps, seeing it visually explained. Depending on the type of music you like, there are certain chords you should try to learn. This way you can start to play some basic songs. If your into Rock music, learn the power chord. The easiest one Is E. Learn E and A as well. If your interested in acoustic guitar, You should learn Chords like C A D and G. If you wanna mix it up a little learn an A minor chord. Play all them chords together everyday however you want. mix it all up. there are so many different variants you can play. And you will be able to write your own songs and learn a lot of basic songs.
