Have you quit smoking?

If you have, did you find that food/drinks tasted different? I recently quit after smoking for 25 years . It's really discouraging to find that some of my favorite foods/drinks are no longer appealing to my sense of taste.

Do you think you'll try? I was telling people for a year that I wanted to quit before finally taking the plunge. Thanks for responding.

yes I quit a few years ago now, and I found I could actually taste the food again instead of it being so bland!

No I haven't quit smoking as I never smoked in the first place. I like to here others have given up though. It's a stinking habit (Literraly!) The smell is awful and hardly fair on the non smokers that have to breathe it in! God bless the new law :D

I found that foods tasted much more intense after I quit. I liked that! The best thing was to take a fresh lemon, cut it in half, and squeeze it over a salad. It was like the flavors were exploding in my mouth. Now I'm used to it, so it's no big deal, but at the time it was a trip!

I think it will take some time before you can feel the tastes, your body needs some time to recover. Try to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and cold pressed oils, fish and nuts, so that you help your body. I think you might need some food supplements to protect your cells.
