whole charade orchestrated by bob arum and the powers that be that want more money out of a possible pacquiao-bradley trilogy. first off,,let me say that i won money betting on bradley but loss on the draw and under 9.5 rounds. the odds i got for bradley straight up win was at +350 while the odds for the draw and under 9.5 rounds were +2000 and +200 respectively. even though my biggest bet was at the under 9.5 because of the odds that i got, i finished at plus money. posted my thoughts and the subsequent in-game of the pac-bradley match at one of my threads here, http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2667263.aspx. with that being said, i'm happy with the outcome of my bets but generally unhappy that boxing has come to this. i'm a boxing fan first and foremost. i was introduced to the sport by my late maternal grandfather and i remember placing my first boxing bet on the hagler-hearns fight. i had placed a bet on the champion marvin hagler to retain his title. i was going toe to toe against my grandfather as he placed a bet on thomas hearns. i couldn't remember the exact amount that we bet on but i recall that the loser had to treat the winner to a ice cream, cake, and soda. lol! enough of the trip to memory and now back to this match. boxing is more than a sport, it is a business. we have heard and seen how matches are fixed. sometimes boxers lay down, other times, judges are bribed. either way, i've seen my share of fixed fights. did i thought that this fight was fixed before hand? no. did it cross my mind that this match might be fixed? no. was i surprised of the results? yes. do i agree with the result? no but my winning ticket sure did!!! i personally think that boxing needed a new draw, a new face, a new controversy that needs too be talked about. a pacquiao win was expected. a pacquiao win would not generate buzz for a pacquiao-bradley rematch. a pacquiao win would only add fuel to the clamor of pacquaio-mayweather. we all want that fight but deep in my heart i know it won't happen with mayweather's jail sentence. pacman vs money mayweather will not happen this year. boxing fans' patience is growing thin. fans need a rivalry that will satiate their hunger for a pacman-money mega fight. enter tim bradley. an undefeated champion, an up and coming fighter who has yet to capture his fame and glory. with bradley's win over pacquiao, the stage is now set for a rematch between the two on november. this early, i know i'll be betting on pacquiao to win that fight. the loss of pacquiao sets up a nice payback for the pacman in the second fight between the two and that eventually sets up a rubber match. winner takes all. between all this, mayweather is waiting in the wings being groomed as the opponent between the winner of the pacquiao-bradley match.i can already hear floyd's scathing remarks. his claim will be that both pac and bradley have losses unlike him who has an immaculate win-loss record. i know it sounds like a script from a wwe pay per view rather than a megafight between respected boxers but that's how i see it. that's my take on the fight. anyway, back to being a boxing fan, i know there is something i can look forward to in the months to come. now my fellow mylotters, i'd like to hear your take on the pacquiao-bradley fight and boxing in general. feel free to chime in. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!

Didn't watch the game, never watched a single of Pacman. I'm proud of him but i'm not a boxing fan. Yesterday i told my friends that Manny might have lost the fight but not people's respect.

goddesses have better things to do than watch mere mortals slug it out in the ring.

hmmm...i wonder what qualifications you look for in people to decide if they need to be 'blessed' or not? plus what sort of 'blessing' are we talking of here? oh by the way goddess, you still have to 'bless'me with your voice clip. just a subtle reminder from a mere mortal.

I also felt bad as everyone else but you did right when placing a bet on Bradley as it did you good money from that. That is a big risk you took but it turned good on you. As for the conspiracy theory everyone is concocting well that needs more proof because it is really hard to prove it at all unless someone would cry out and openly admit to it. I think more money would indeed flow for a rematch than any other match Pacquiao chooses for now. I think that he needs to try to retake the belt before he would fight Mayweather. I do not know but I feel that Mayweather may just make another excuse not to fight Pacquiao after this defeat. But retaking his crown would just make or prove to Mayweather to complete Pacquiao's boxing career into full bloom.

hi rsa101! how have you been? nice to see you in the thread man, hope you are doing well. yeah, it was a good bet. wish i had put more money on it. can't complain really. glad that for a change i was on the 'right' side. its good that the judges already gave their side of the story and mentioned their reasons for scoring the fight as is. they won't hear any arguments from me. like what i mentioned, a bradley win made more sense especially since they want to have a rematch between bradley and pacquiao. pacquiao wins the rematch and then they can set up a third match between the two. again, it creates more money for everyone involved. the mayweather-pacquaio match won't happen this year. not with mayweather spending time in jail. might happen next year though. plus, bradley can throw his hat in the ring so to speak and make this a triple threat match. lol! i know it sounds like wwe but hey, we've seen stranger things happen in boxing. a bradley-mayweather match isn't too far off. bradley seems like a superstar waiting in the wings. just my 2 cents. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Like millions (or even billions) of people around the world, I was definitely upset by the decision made by the judges. Although it wasn't a unanimous one, I still believe Pacquiao won over Bradley. During the game, I observed that the referee seemed to favor Bradley. I said so, because every time Bradley caught Manny in his arms, the referee wouldn't go in between them. Relatively, when Manny caught Bradley in his arms, the referee was quick enough to discipline Manny. Well maybe, it was the mistake of my eyes. . . or maybe because Bradley and the referee are both American. But while I was reading your discussion, I felt I was reading a sports column. I'm not a sports buff nor a boxing fanatic but I absolutely agree on the "boxing as a business" you have portrayed in here. Sad to say, if boxing would be like this, I guess there is no point at watching it anymore. . . unless you do have a bet.

hi mykmari_08. well, its three days after the match so i can say that i was really surprised with the result. i'm glad i won my bet and after much thought, i really believe now that the result was more of a business decision. the rematch between bradley and pacquiao would create more buzz if pacquiao loss. hence, the split decision favoring bradley. anyway, i'm already looking forward to the november 10 rematch between these two boxers. already thinking about putting a good amount on pacquiao to win that one via knockout. cheers and happy mylotting!!!
