When Balotelli saw Casillis, he slow down and walked ahead.What did he see? What was he thinking? It is such a funny secret.

Casillas is one of the greatest goalkeepers that S - Casillas is one of the greatest goalkeepers that Spain has ever produced.
Casillas may have a role to play in Spain politics in future. He may do great things for Spain when he hangs up his boots one day. That might have been what Balotelli saw when he was getting near Casillas' goal - A truly great man.

To me it looked like he was waiting for the Spanish defender to catch up with him and "fell down" trying to win the penalty for Italy. I guess he had no faith in his goalscoring abilities and opted for the worst solution possible for his team.

Mario Balotelli is a genius - Mario Balotelli is a genius.
With the goal scoring record he'd had, it did not seem that he had doubts in his own skill. With his egoistic personality, it would have been more for his over-confidence to wait for the best time to shoot, rather than for waiting to be tackled to win a penalty. Balotelli is a genius. He just had a split-second of misjudgement.

it is the biggest mistake of cesare prandelli...put balotelli as starting eleven i do hope in the next game, prandelli did not make any mistake like that

I was stunned when I saw that live. It was really mind numbing. He did all the hard work to win the ball and when he was in a position to score the goal, simply slowed down and allowed Ramos to come back and make the challenge. Not sure whether he was playing for a penalty, but it certainly was a poor poor decision by Ballotelli. Cheers! Ram

Maybe the big stage is getting to him? Balotelli is usually cool and clinical in front of the goal but, somehow he seems to freeze at that moment.
