I watched this 2004 movie on TV last night. I had never heard of it. It stars Zach Braff and Natalie Portman. It is a bit of a strange movie which tells a sort of unusual story. There was one scene that really made me laugh. Braff's character had just met Portman's character at a doctors office and was giving her a ride home when he asked if they could stop at a friends mansion that was just around the corner. He told her that he didn't want to stay long and that they could use having to get her home as the reason for leaving. He suggested that she could tug on her ear as a single to leave. The next thing we see is the friend firing a flaming arrow almost straight up in the air and then the three of them running around trying to dodge where it will land. It ends up about a foot in front of Portman's character's feet and she starts tugging furiously on her ear. It just really broke me up. Supposedly laughing is very good for your health; so that scene probably gave my health a good boost.

hello,
I watched the movie GARDEN STATE a few days ago too. I love Natalie portman. She is my favorite actress. So that's why i decided to watch that movie. I was not expecting much from that movie but i was surprised. I loved that movie. It has some very good humor and i loved both the lead characters in this movie. There was that scene where they kissed for the first time was awesome. And the scene you mentioned was also very good. Good movie overall.
