With the use of computer everywhere in school, in giving lectures, in taking of test and carrying of discussion, in taking notes and jottings in the Microsoft Word, how long will the Writing materials such as books, pen, pencils markers and so onstay again in our generation. Will they become extinct? Will they years to come make people not know how to use these things again because of provision of computers, IPad, Ipod ans all IT gadgets?

No! While Microsoft still exists with it's entourage of virus, trojan and worm buddies, we will need human writing materials for the foreseeable future.

Sure talk Petersum as these computers are liable to virus and attack and crash. But some are of different opinion. What if you protect your system very well

Personally I cannot see everyone everywhere in all parts of the world, especially the Schools switching to Computers, etc. and people quit being made to write things down on paper. There will always be the need for Notebooks, Paper, Crayons, Pencils, Pens, etc. I know even though I spend a lot of my time on a Computer doing things, I still spend time writing things down on paper from time to time as it helps keep my mind flowing with New ideas for sure.

I don't know, but I hope we still need paper and pencils. Some of the schools no longer teach kids to write in cursive. It's a small step to not teaching them to write at all, instead typing everything. If we don't consciously try to keep writing skills, I think they could very well disappear.

Noone can guess what will stay and what will bwcome extinct. I prefer books with leaves to e books, but prefer to write in my computer instead of writing with a pen. I do make my grocery lists with a pen an paper though. The feather pen became extinct, but there are still other kinds that are used.

I think they will still be use as long as they are people who write. Technology does provide a convenient way of doing this but there are also instances where technology cannot be used. We might be a modern society but not everyone benefits from it. Many people still use pen and paper in their daily activities because it is handy and easier to do. Not everyone is also computer literate, as much as everybody wants to. Also they are also circumstances where a hard copy is more convenient to sue compered to a soft copy. Documents in computer are very efficient to use. But they are not always applicable in all situations.
