total scholar and full scholar

So, our daughter told me last night thru text , about the interview of their dean with her . It is about choosing who amongst the top 10 full scholars (one of them is her ) will be chosen the 3 total scholar. A total scholar means you are guaranteed for full scholarship until you finished the course, without a maintaining grade or no failing grades. While with the total scholar, you have to maintain a certain high grade lest you will lose your scholarship . And I told her it’s okay if you cannot make it to that total scholarship, because at least you are always motivated to work on high grades than just be complacent with just fair grades, if you are just a full scholar. We don't want her to be pressured, but just study well so she could maintain her being a full scholar.

Yes, I understand the feeling. I was use to be a scholar back in school and maintaining grades is indeed a pressure. but yes, it is also a challenge. My daughter is also a full scholar and thanks she pass everything with rainbow color :p hehehe (flying colors huh- is there something like that, colors that fly - just kidding) Wish your daughter all the best

I am happy to know that your daughter is also a full scholar, Jaiho. It's really a great help financially that our daughters are scholars. Right? I guess, we have intelligent daughters because their mothers are intelligent too. Do you agree , Jaiho.

It's good to hear. That would be great if you'll not pressure her. From that, she'll not be pressured about her grades. It's really nice to let her handle it but you must only follow up her. Asking her at times if she's fine can also be good. At least you can monitor if she's having problems or not.. You're so blessed to have such daughter..

Yes, we always text or sometimes call her every night. And we also take a peek at her FB which she only updates on weekends when she's not busy studying. We don't pressure her at all, except that she should maintain her being a scholar. Actually, being on top 4 amongst the top 10 of their batch, we didn't pressure her to be that. It was her own volition, that she is aiming that. Thank you karstine, we are indeed blessed for having a smart and good daughter.

Ooops.. I'm not yet a mother D, if you don't mind. I am still a student.. And I am not actually a scholar student.. but I keep on maintaining good grades at school. I just admired your daughter for being so diligent on her studies.. I wish my mom is also proud at me even though I am not a scholar. Anyway, it's good to know that you just let her do what she really want in life. You and Mom are so alike in raising children.. Keep it up D..

the most important thing is that she is chosen for one of the 10 and she is good. She can just do her best no one can expect more from her.

Yes, that's what we told her, winterose. She's on the top 4th place actually, so we understand why she expects to be in the 3 Total scholarship.

congratulations for having a very intelligent daughter. if i am her father, i will also be so proud of my daughter for being in the scholars list, total or full. i hope there will be more and more schools and organizations will help our children to get or achieve their dreams. i wish my children could be like your daughter, pretty and intelligent so sending them to the university will not make us the parent much poorer.

Yes, we are so proud of her Neildc. I think my prayers while she was still in elementary worked. I prayed that we will really be helped in sending her to College, specially when i decided to resign from my job. Thus, when she started in high school as scholar at Philippine Science, Bicol, i was so thankful and prayed harder. God answered my prayers and to that i am forever thankful to HIM.

It's good enough that she got a scholarship and if you say that she's motivated to study, it really doesn't matter what kind of scholarship she may get into. You got a smart daughter there D.

Yes, that's what we told her. We don't want to pressure her. We know that she is capable in maintaining her full scholarship, and that's enough for us. Yes, indeed she's a smart daughter. Thank you Toni.

Hi, I like your view towards your daughter. Some parents force their children to become topper. but it is not fair. We should encourage our children to participate in the competitive exams, by which their knowledge get enhanced. and it is useful for betterment of their future.

We don't have to force our children to achieve whatever we would like them to achieve. We can just motivate them, and see if they will like what we are leading them to. If they like it, very good. If not, then let them choose whatever they like to have as their course.

Well whatever she will be, doesn't matter as long as the word "scholar" is there . You have all the reason in the world to be proud of your daughter since she has done something that a lot of parents can only wish for and I would like to congratulate you and your husband for raising such a bright kid.

Thank you for saying so, ybong! Yeah that's right as long as she is a Scholar! We are so proud of her because she is a scholar from high school until when she graduated for her BS Biology, and now in St. Luke's College of Medicine. She is god's gift to us, specially that she was actually born on Christmas day.

simplyd this approach is good. we should not pressurise children. if it is possible for them let them achieve high scores and maintain the scholarship. pressurisation will result in reduction of their performance. let her enjoy and study. she will make it.

Yes, rav, that's what i am assuring her, we are not pressuring her to be one of those 3 Total scholars, because we know that she can maintain her being a full scholar. Sometimes, my daughter seemed to always expect so much on things. I tell her to take it easy on herself.

Nice that she is a scholar that means that she is really studying hard in school. My youngest brother is also scholar in on college wherein we don't need to pay for his tuition fee and he also have allowance which is a good help in terms of financial.

Yes, actually ardoy, we don't have so much problem now that she is a full scholar in Medicine. But if she wasn't able to pass the scholarship exam, we will not permit her anymore to pursue it, instead get a job to his graduated course. It's a great help indeed, because her tuition alone is for PhP100,000.00 per semester. Her books were free and the top 10 scholars (she's top 4 ) were given a kindle or an e-book. What we do give her is her monthly allowance. Her dormitory fee is courtesy of her two uncles, who are singles. We are so grateful to them and to God of course.
