New policy was implemented... this is the use of Mother tongue as medium of instruction in elementary Level... This is adopted as effective means of helping the kids to fully understand the lesson.. But, the most affected by this new policy are those kids who do not know the local dialect, they will surely find more time to adjust.. Hope this new policy will help to improve our educ system.!

This policy works for the general population but unlucky are those who are using tagalog and transferred to the province. Like my wife's nephew who was born and raised in metro manila but has to go to the province where everyone used cebuano. The poor guy whose just in the elementary lost interest in going to school since according to him he can't understand bisaya. Now they have to transfer to bicol since his father is from there, the good thing is he was able to learn to speak bicol easily.

Hello Cttolledo, You know this is a clear evidence that the government wasn't preparing properly for this program. Tagalog should have been the basic language thought in the NCR or tagalog speaking provinces like for example Cavite. then, the majority of the dialect should be spoken on other provinces. what they should have done is teach them all the dialect year by year. for example, pampanga language would be taught this year, then next year would be visaya. it's not gonna work.

I think its better for the schools right now to focus on how to balance the use of our language in the classes as well as English since most of the kids these days aren't good in English. We have to be honest that though English is our 2nd language you can only be good in speaking and writing if you studied in a private school. I do hope that they can balance it out since English is really needed specially at work and its the universal language.
