Usually when a dvd is too far scratched, you definitely cannot play it anymore. Why don't you just download a new copy of The Recruit and save it on a new DVD-R? This is a great movie to watch. It's so full of suspense and the ending has a twist that you'd never guessed. At least, I didn't.

Hey there umionor, i think i'll just get a new dvd or buy a solution to help restore the dvd in it's best quality in the future. Thanks for your comment and your suggestion.

Hello deodavid It is discouraging when we have a DVD that we enjoy, only to discover that it is scratched so much that we can't view it. There are some polishing creams for these scratches -- perhaps this would work to save your DVD? I hope that you are able to find resolution to this problem.
