How does mylot make money?

I am really excited that mylot pays its members on time. I find a lot of mylotters who are participating in discussions regularly and earning a good amount regualrly. I have a doubt - How does mylot make money to pay its members? I find only one or two advertisements in the discussion page. I am sure that mylot doesn't make so much money from those advertisements only. Can anyone explain about this?
