I think this is in our nature. Never to be satisfied with what we have. However, I also think that this is the same reason for progress. For instance, if people never wanted to travel they would have never invented vehicles and planes and ships.
On a lower scale, I believe that people should try to appreciate what they have at the moment, too. It is only when we lose something that we realize how important it was.

Hi dansazz and welcome to mylot.
I think as you age you come at peace not needing so many material things.
I am content to watch a good movie, while I sit and craft.
I love to take walks and see if I can find any animals to interact with.
Its amazing when you slow down and take time for the little things.
A new photo of your grandchild, or something they did.
Change your pace and look around and see what you have instead of what you don't have.
There is an inner peace that we can find inside each of ourselves if we take the time to find it.

hi,
let us try to live in the fullest and enjoy each day we have here in the world, but we can not avoid those things that made us,so for me to stay happy i don't think to my problems because it will only stress us so don't think too much of them.

I think we just need to change our outlook on life. I know that might be easier said than done, but it's a start. We live in a world with so many things changing around us. We hear about the newest trends about something and just are tempted to follow those trends buy reading more about it and potentially purchasing more. Generally, I think it's a matter of self control. We have to try to come to a realization that we need to be more reasonable with our buying habits rather than just being impulsive. And of course, there are things we want that we cannot have due to some obstacle. But again, it's all about evaluating through reasoning if we truly need something. Is it something necessary for us? Or is it just another trendy item that we won't care about in the near future after we have obtained it?

For me, to be happy, I think you need to appreciate more what you have rather than wanting those things you can't have. It's also a matter of acceptance for the ting you cannot change. And, forgiveness for the people who have done wrong to you. It's also as simple as being happy and contented with what you are. People will say bad things about you, but, who cares? As long as you love yourself, accept your negative attitudes and try hard to change it and be the person you wanted to be. A person made by you, not by other people.
