Maybe you need to expand your friend's list? Friends get an e-mail everytime you start a discussion and can comment if you have an interesting topic. New members would do well to spend most of their time at first in just commenting on discussions already written. That way you will become known around the site and will see more people that you want on your friend's list.

What you need is to post some good quality discussions with an attractive title so that every one will go through your discussions . Hope you get me.

Yeah it's really hard because you're discussion should catch attention to most members especially if you want them to comment (some are only reading discussion that doesn't interest them). Maybe you should try something else.
