I ask because I don't know. In the mall where I work at, right across the hall, actually is a kids shoe store, and everyday-all day I can hear is kids screaming bloody murder. Young kids too. I know my son, neice and nefew NEVER cried or fussed when I took them to get new shoes. Yet from across the hall I hear sounds of tourchered little kids, why is that? And have any of you experinced it-with your own kids or whatever?

I never cried when getting new shoes. I haven't seen any child crying when getting one at the shoe store. I think some kids are different.

Oh I agree that all kids are different, like I said though, it sounds soo aweful and after a few years of w orking accross the hall from this store and listening to this it makes me wonder what is the problem. I mean I've never heard of kids flipping out so bad over shoes. I just don't get it.

I remember when I was a kid screaming like that - because the shoes hurt! My feet are naturally wide, and when I was young, children's shoes for wide feet were very expensive and weren't generally carried in regular shoe stores. I much preferred going barefoot! The only time I didn't cry was in getting a cheap pair of flipflops or slip on shoes. My kids never cried. I took them to a specialty kids shoe store, and their feet were precisely measured, and only the correct sizes tried on. If anything started to feel uncomfortable we'd take it right off. I sometimes think, too, little ones just don't have the patience to sit still and try on shoes. Or they are being made to get shoes they don't care for. My kids were always fine in the shoe store.

I can understand the painful shoes, but it just seems so weird that for hours a day all I here is screaming, I've taken my son to that same shoe store and no issue, and I've had so many happy kids run straight across from the shoe store into where I work to show off their new shoes. Yet, I wish I could record it, because it sounds aweful, like they are ripping off their feet, not sizing them. I just don't get it.
