I try to read my Bible daily but the last few months have been crazy for me so I have been lacking in my relationship with God. My life has definitely been a reflection of this also! June 1st marked a new month so I decided to start reading a chapter in proverbs everyday. I don't read on the weekends, but I catch up on Monday. It has been so rewarding and fulfilling! I just take a chapter a day because there are 31 chapters so it works out pretty nicely! I challenge all of you that are reading this to start reading daily! It will change your life, I promise! Please update me and let me know how you are doing and I will try to update anyone who is interested as well!

Good for you! We can learn so much from reading God's word. I am reading in 1 Kings right now. I look forward to getting your updates.

For me, it has always been hard to stick to a reading schedule for any book. The Bible is particularly difficult! Just ask my sisters...they let me borrow books all the time, but it takes me forever to return their books to them because it takes me so long to finish them! It's not that I don't read fast, but it takes me a while to start the book, then it takes a few chapters to get into it, but then once I'm into it, it's all downhill and fast reading after that. It's just annoying! I'd love to read more than I do, especially in the Proverbs. I know I need it! Would you believe I've never read the Bible all the way through? I can't finish any book it seems like, so that hasn't been any different, unfortunately. I'd love to set aside time each evening after work to sit and read something...anything! I used to read before bed, and I would wake up so rested! I have a hard time reading first thing in the morning, but reading before I go to sleep has a really good effect on me. I'm not sure why, but I'd like to think it's because I'm doing something that doesn't require a lot physically, and it helps wind down my mind for the night. It's something I really looked forward to doing too. I'll have to start that up again! As for the Proverbs, I need to have something on my computer at home (or on my phone!) where it will automatically pop up with the next daily Proverb for me to read whether I like it or not! It will be convenient for me to read it that way. It would act as a reminder, and I'll see it each day when I get on my phone or computer. That might be a crazy idea, but given all the technology nowadays, I'm sure it's entirely possible!

I'm sure there's an app or program like that out there somewhere! It's probably well worth looking into. Actually, now that I think of it, the funniest thing happened to me on Sunday! My Bible app came up with a notification asking me how my goal of reading the entire book in a year was going! I think July 1 is the halfway mark, so it's probably a preset notification that comes up at certain times. Every once in a while on the first day of the month I'll get some kind of reminder from that app. It's really funny because it's so random! If that app can do things like that, I'm sure there's like a daily verse notification app. Even if not, it's probably worth setting up a manual notification/reminder each day with a verse attached.

That would be a great invention! I wonder if you could even set a reminder in your phone with a hyperlink to the scripture? I finished the month of June and feel a lot closer to God because of it. I am inspired to serve Him more and have had a good start for the month of July too!

I also think that God's words are motivation for us. God loves us like his own children and supports us in our lives. I think you are doing a good job on reading proverbs every day. I think proverbs helps us to understand more about our God and our lives and also provides us with wisdom in our lives.

I agree. I feel that since I started reading them, I feel that I can think more clearly and rationalize my decisions better as well! It is amazing how He works in our lives!
