When we give importance to a donkey, it thinks itself a hourse !

Hello fellow Mylotters The title above is a translation of the famous french quote 'Quand on donne de l'importance à un ane, il se croit cheval'. This latter means that when we give lot of importance to a person, he starts acting arrangtly and believing that we depend on his existance, that without his interferences, our acts and our thoughts, more than that, our values don't have a meaning. Unfortunatly, that was the case with me. Some of my closest friends have became the subject of this quote: I used to forgive their mistakes and missbehaviors to me since they were so special. Now, they hardly give me some of their time even to talk!. As a consequence, I begin thinking that they don't deserve that amount of attention. If they really care about our friendship, they would certainly act differently. So, What do you think about this guys ? have you ever been in such situation ? What should I do ?

I think that you should change your behavior with them. Don't show them that importance that you used to give to them anymore. Then see what will be their reaction. Since you are ready to drop out everything try this as your last resort. There is a famous saying that represents the idea above: 'If you really love something set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If not, it wasn't meant to be. Never regret. Because If it is good, it's wonderful and if it is bad, it's experience. Never be sad for what is over, just be glad that it was'. Well, set them free my friend and see what is going to happen!. I hope that you got my point OYouness.

Hello Html01 I totally got your idea and I really liked the saying. I think that I should apply this method with them since I am ready to let things go. In my state, I don't hide that I don't expect a good reaction from them because I know them very well. Although, I think that it worth trying. I will set them free, and let's see what would happen!.

Well you are absolutely right. If they really cared about your friendship they would give their time to you instead of blowing you off. I guess I would confront them and ask them why they are doing that if it is bothering you. Good luck.

Hi ForSouls1234 I tried to confront them many times, but each time they find an excuse or something like that to justify their behavior. The problem is I got enough of this. If they really care about this friendship, they will act diffrently in order to keep it. I think I should end up things with them. I won't keep bodering myself for something that just annoyes me. It is time to make things right.
