Apple Vs. Android, Which to buy?

So, after using the Motorola Razr for half a decade, I'm finally able to switch to one of the two phones; The Iphone, compared to an android. Which would you choose, and why? I'm kind of leaning toward Android since they're less expensive as well has holding nearly the same functions as an apple. I'd also like to say, please don't point out the cosmetic effects (Iphone is smooth and "X" color), because I'm looking for more functions.

I'll recommend Android OS, there are free apps in the market and other apk downloading sites. The user interface is incredible and the customization features are just fantastic and apple doesn't have the flexibility in terms of customization. hundreds or thousands of apps are being added monthly. USB ports, bluetooth, expandable memory etc are not found in Ios..

Are there any risks to downloading applications? Will there be viruses of some sort that will destroy the Android, or just applications that are provoked by the person that would destroy the android?

That's right. Even I, don't have any anti-virus apps but didn't experience any malwares, and I have downloaded more than a hundred of apps already, and just deleted them if i'm bored of it :) My android phone is not that quick given that it is just a low-end phone, single core clocked at 600mhz, shame on me LOL. If you have bucks and bucks of money, then go for quad-core phones clocked at 1.2-1.5 ghz processor (high quality chipsets). The newest phone today are very fast. Once and for all, watch in youtube those comparisons for you to see the differences. If you like more the apple then go for it, the same for android. Goodluck. But if you want a tablet, just go with iPad. And if you can wait, and if you like any 5+" displays, wait for galaxy Note 2. . Galaxy s3 and htc one x are the most preferred phone now in the market. i'll recommend you to wait for the iphone 5 and watch the video comparisons to make more wise decisions.

I choose Android. It's better. Most of Android apps are free. Beside that, Android OS is modifiable. I can modify the OS if I want to.

I would still go for android OS, probably because of the so many applications available that would suit everyone's needs, be it games, softwares, photos, music, etc. I think it's interface is more user friendly and at the same time good enough for the technically inclined.

Are there any specifics you can point out that the Iphone or a smartphone made by Apple isn't whereas the Android is? Also, how is the interface more friendly compared to Apple?

I have to say that I just love my iPhone and after having it for almost 2 months just couldn't imagine not owning it any more! I use it constantly for updating my status on Facebook, contacting friends and relatives and for e mails and internet 'on the go'. The camera is incredible, somebody commented the other day about the high standard of my photographs I had uploaded on to Facebook and asked me what camera it was; they were amazed that it was 'just' a phone!!

Most of my friends have an Iphone themselves, but I'm not sure which one to go to. I know that a lot of people use iPhone, but I still think that some products at apple are a bit overpriced. What I'm pretty sure of however, is that an Android could do that as well; How high quality is the camera? is it 720p/1080p?

I will go with Android. It's better than Apple's iOS in many ways. But the main plus point with Android for me is that it is Open Source ! Also you get a wide choice of handsets if you plan to purchase a Android ! And again purchasing a Android will save a lot of money of yours.!

Yeah, I'm also thinking about the android because of the Apple's overpriced products, but I just like making sure that they're essentially the same; I'm a little bit indifferent as to how Android is open-source, but I bet it will be a great experience. Are the headsets free? :P

I would definitely say iPhone! I have one myself and its like an extension of my own arms! Can't live without it! So convenient! My brother has an android, in my perspective, i feel that iPhone is better!

What does your brother think about the android? My closest friend has an android and he says he loves his, and a lot of my other friends say I should get an Iphone. They have mixed opinions on theirs, but I don't really trust them to give the right opinions since I've seen them break them very easily. _"

And what about the music? I lost my PC with all of my music on it a few month ago. Fortunately I had all of it on my i Phone so I thought: Good, no problem then. Unfortunately I cannot download my music to my pc with iTunes as it only let's me upload from my PC to my phone. Now I don't have win anymore because it was always causing me trouble and iTunes does not run on Linux. The Linux version that is able to connect with the i Phone also doesn't l me to download my music... Maybe it's me who don't understand ho to do it but it makes me sick... Noe I have my music on my phone but I cannot get it out of there. I've also tried to access via ssh or whatever it is called and yes, the music is there but it is not saved with the title names it should be but some kind of code so it is of no use to download it as it will take me month to save them with the correct titles names :(

I've only been using my iTunes for my Ipod nano to recharge my music, and I totally agree. It's relatively slow if you keep updating and has all that unnecessary junk that lets you be more social, but I just want to recharge my Ipod, not see all the wonderful features of socializing with people of the same tastes. Not to mention they're bad, but Facebook/Twitter already has that function..

I think that you have to think about which of the features you're looking for. Personally, I don't think that Apple can be beaten in any way because of the fact that most of the applications are available on there and not everything is available on the other platforms. But then again, if you don't have the money to be able to pay that much for a phone then you should go for the android because it does most of the same things, but yet doesn't cost you a full month's wages like an Apple phone would if you chose that one instead.

I would got with android. Because so many variety of prices and variety of specifications of android phones are available in the market. We can choose any of them which satisfies our expectation. So many types of android applications are available in the internet and we can enjoy all of them .
