Philippines is the only Asian country to be included in this year's Business English Index. Phil. obtained a score above 7.0, a level within range of a high proficiency. This measures Business English Proficiency in the workplace. Indicator of economic growth and business success, this is based on the latest GDP data from the World Bank.
I hope the government and the people will use this to their advantage. Hope this truly reflects the status as a nation. If this is true, Philippines can be that competitive inside and out. Good news for everyone in the Philippines now that BPO and call center industry are one of those contributors of the nation's economic growth.
How do you feel about this? Please share. Thanks

On the other Hand, there is too much competition for job opportunities if you will rely in English alone, a 3rd language will give a person more chance to have opportunities. Look in the US many parents now wanted their kids to learn Mandarin. In Finland, students can learned up to 5 languages, so they can get opportunities in the neighboring countries as well.
I wont deny though, I have my job because I can speak English.,
But on the other hand, Japan didn't need to learn English and they were a progressive country.
