Spain labored to a 1-0 win over Croatia to move into the quarters. Croatia were held at bay by a brilliant Cassilas and are out of the tournament. The result that Italy can go through by beating Ireland which they duly went on to do by winning 2-0. The two bad boys of Italy i.e. Cassano and Balloteli were the ones who came to the party and scored the two goals that took Italy into the quarters. What are your views on the final day of Group C? Cheers! Ram

No much surprises from the Group C results. Spain manged to win over Croatia and Italy also managed to win over Ireland to qualify for the next round. The goal scored by Spain is just a classic one. They kept a good control on the ball and made a sudden attack to score the goal . It is all about the team effort .

Yes, but the Spanish attack still looked strangely jaded. It was not a fluent performance that we have come to expect of Spain. Cheers! Ram

Well we need depends on how Italy can prove they can improve the play against Croatia. while the had shown he able to combine mix between old and the young players. And now again Pirandello must show he able to utilize this team against England who has well organized defends and better goal keeper than Croatia..However, I believe they still has good ochre since many Italian players getting used to with England way of playing because many of their players are playing there...maybe not too many but baloteli will represent this situation.

I think Italy vs. England would be a blockbuster match. Both teams in this tournament have been defensive minded, though surprisingly Italy has been better in attack than England. Cheers! Ram

hello, Well right from the beginning of Euro cup Spain were the favorites as they are in great form and also the defending champion. But I think the absence of David Villa has hurt them. They are missing their all time top scorer. In the last match, where they scored 4 goals with Torres scoring twice, everyone thought that they are back with a bang. But with Croatia they struggled a lot and now i m confused about their fate in the remaining matches.

Yes, David Villa is obviously missing from the team. There is no one to finish off the good work from the midfield and that is hurting them currently. Cheers! Ram

It is a pity that Croatia is out of the tournament. They were one of the better and exciting team in the tournament. While many have praise the Spain's tika-taka style, I find it boring to watch. All they do is pass, pass, pass and pass. Good for those suffering from insomnia. Italy looks good and I foresee that they will go far.

Italy is now up against England and it would be interesting to see how the match pans out. Yes, without the precision of David Villa up front the Spanish game is beginning to look boring. Cheers! Ram

Spain came to the tournament as favourites and rightfully so they advanced to the next stage. Unlike Holland. A sad case of disunity for Holland. Anyway, back to Spain. A 1 - 0 win doesn't really sounds like Spain is as strong as they should be. Probably missing the strikes of David Villa. Fernando Torres and Llorente have not hit full gear. I hope Torres 2 goals in the previous game is not a flash in the pan. Next round they are going to face 2nd runner up of the group containing France, England, Ukraine and Sweden. I think they should up their game a little bit more because opponents for the next round are no easy task. Their current performance is not that great. Being the World Cup and European Champion, the pressure is on them to repeat their performance. The likes of Xavi, Torres, Ramos, Xabi and Cassilas are experience enough to put up a great performance for the tournament. As for Italy, never ever look down on old legs. Buffon and Pirlo are prime example of great players. Their experience carried them through to the next round. Lucky enough Balotelli and Cassano didn't start acting strange.Balotelli especially and he did scored. Congrats to him although i never like him for his arrogance.

Spain now is up against France. So it is going to be the battle of two good midfields and a misfiring front line up. While Spanish forwards are not doing much, similarly French striker Benzema also seems to be ineffective. Cheers! Ram
