China and India's Rising economy, One of the reason why their doing well is their man power, Yes their large population. For sure for some countries a small population makes them prosperous. That's the reason why most of us Thinks our country struggles because its over populated. But one of the things an over population can be an advantage is the work force and cheap labor! Which attracts foreign investors.
We can give the cheap labor foreign investors want to have for their business , we can provide man power for countries with small population.
Why cant we get more investors?
How can I we make this large population of ours an advantage instead of disadvantage?

Perhaps the problem is not the population or the work force per se but the reputation of our country and pour workers. They are many people already here in the country that belong to the workforce and there are others who are unemployed because they either lack the opportunity ort too lazy to grab it. We also have quite the population of workers abroad. Many people remark that Filipinos are good workers abroad but there are not so many companies who do eth same evaluation here I the country itself. Also, the political and economical atmosphere of eth country is always a concern for investors. Not always the cheap labor and the good workforce.

About laziness, poor families with backyards wont die of hunger if they take at advantage try planting vegetables, there are unemployed people who are thriving because they have a garden. About investors, from what I heard a foreigner is not allowed to 100% own a business here, We are one of the few countries to not allow that. That alienated many investors.

All these comments have been very enriching and quite interesting about the economy of the Philippines if I am not wrong.

I still think overpopulation is more of a disadvantage for us than the other. With a growing rate of illiteracy, and the gov't inability to give quality education to the people, only a few can take advantage of the supposed jobs from foreign investors.

not only we have bad educational system right now, investors dont seem to like investing here, i ehard we are one of the few countries left were foreigners are not allowed to have full ownership of business. yeah we have Chinese Businessmen but they were naturalized Filipinos, so we cant count them as foreign investors,

Well if you are comparing India and China you just have to look for their total land mass area to our place. This means that they can still cope with the area of the land with the population they have. The resources like food, and other needs are still able to cope with the population growth. I also do not agree since like China is trying to stop their population to grow because I know they have this law which penalizes a family for having more than 1 child. I do not know if they implement this law but in the past they tried to implement this since they also see rapid growth in population will be counter productive for the economy.
In the case of US and many 1st world countries, we can see that they are prosperous because they were able to manage the population in their country. But nowadays it is becoming a disadvantage since the fertility in their country is declining where there is an inverted pyramid population that is haunting their country. It also is happening in Japan and other well to do countries. I think with the industrialization they have citizen starts to think to manage their family on their own and limiting their family to smaller which in turn is getting a big toll on them. It is now showing that in the coming days there are more retirees than working citizen.
So in this scenario you can see the bad and good on having a population. It totally depends on how much the government can manage their population. If the country can afford to provide services to their citizen then fine and good but if not better have a good policy in managing the growth in the meantime that resources cannot afford it.

Our country is designed to be an agricultural country but our government kept on forcing this country to be industrial. Mining is not meant for us. Our country should be about planting crops. It should be the priority for sure,.

Well I think our government should balance its priority to all sectors. Our country's population is composed not only of farmers and fishermen but of varied skills and intellect. For a growing population as ours we should be able to address all kinds of skills and knowledge our population have to have a sustainable economy.

we dont need a mining industry, we dont need toxic waste releasing factories. Call center and other telecommunications related industries are good. But this country is designed for agriculture and tourism. we are not meant for industrial stuff.
