With the great increase of pressure of life and study, many people have got certain mental probles, which is one of the reasons for the more mentality doctors nowadays.currently the career of mentality doctors has got a bright future for the progressively pursue spiritual world and material world meanwhile.it is reasoned by people's career.People living in the city have got more brainwork relatively and more life tension. As far as i was concerned, all these are the normal phenomena of social development. If people learn how to adjust themselves well, such phenomena would get mitigated.for me ,i have this feeling that got mental illness, and what about you?do you think more and more people living in the cities have got mental illness?

No I don't. If that was the case New York City and all the other major cities of the world would have people laying on every corner ha ha. Mental illness is everywhere and for every reason in every age group. Many people who live in rural areas have more stress because there are less jobs to go around. These people may not be able to leave for one reason or another.

I don't have any idea about this and haven't checked if there is a survey regarding this matter either. Anyway, mental problem is everywhere and I believed that it is not only happening in the city but everywhere. It's like other illness also, that maybe increasing in numbers everywhere in the world.

I believe we live in such a busy world today that you are right many have fallen prey to various mental problems. The stress we face is unbearable work, school and pressures from friends and family is to much to handle. I personally believe you shouldn't think to much or else you'll create problems that didn't even exists before!

There have been studies about this, and I do actually think that there are more people in the city who are mentally ill than those who live in the countryside. It has been proven that living in the country can be highly beneficial to people who are struggling with their health, because there aren't as many things that that would induce stress in an individual. In the city, you can sometimes feel lost because things go so fast around you, but when you live somewhere that is quiet, you have much more time to be able to know yourself for who you are.

Well, more people live in the cities than in rural or suburban areas, so I would say YES there are more people with mental illnesses. I think it's probably a better idea to think of "persons per capita" or percentages though than the actual number of people. It's hard to say though. I have never lived in a small town or a suburb so it's hard to say if there was a substantial increase in people with mental illnesses or disabilities. Then again, we also have a lot of homeless people in my city at least, and a lot of them (a good percentage) have some kind of mental handicap.

Hi dinesh, Urban people are living a prizon life. They have not much space to move, not much relative to associate. They are to inhale lead contaminated air. They are being infested with kinda invisible mental illness gradually.

Maybe,it's ture that the air in the countryside is better than the city.

It seem this way from the outset, may be the trend will give us some insights why it is happening that city has higher number of mental illness patient than countryside then provide us some excuses to seek out solution. It is no doubt daily city living condition are more intense and pressured than rural condition, residents in city are more vulnerable and hence susceptible to mental break down whenever they can't cope with the rising pressures and tension. Only people with a higher mental tolerant threshold and preparation can sustain their sanity is not uncommon among city denizens.
