Give me advise about my accountancy course..

I am very new to accounting concepts since we are not taught about the basics or even a brief background about it in my secondary education unlike my classmates. I always people saying that accountancy is a very hard to achieve profession. Would you give me some advise for me to pass my course. I really need this since I have no one to open up with this thing I wanted to know.
