Internet can be very useful to jog memory

I just had a prescription called in to a pharmacy that I had never used before and I was giving them some information over the phone. One question they asked was if I had any drug allergies. I answered yes but I just couldn't remember the name except that it was an antibiotic in the penicillin family. I think I must have it written down somewhere but I just couldn't find it; I do know that the allergy showed up about a decade ago. So finally I went on line and did a search on penicillin family drug allergy and just like that the one I was trying to remember was in the title of the first item in the list. Once I saw the name, it was easy to remember. I also learned that just having a reaction once, especially a minor one like the rash I had, doesn't necessarily mean a true allergy or a serious allergy and they named a couple of tests to check for sure. But this was just another example of the Internet being fast for finding important information. I wish I had turned on the computer and looked there first rather than wasting the time I spent looking through old files.

The internet can be amazing for this reason, and I can find a lot of things out that I had forgotten about. I often think about books that I have read in the past and if I can't remember the name, you could just input a couple of the things that you remember about the plot and then you should be able to find out which book it was. If you only know one lyric of a song then the internet is going to be able to help you to find this as well. I don't know what would happen if people decided that the internet was going to be shut down, because we rely on it so much these days.
