..two hard disk freeze and their consequences

I was booting up my laptop when the whole thing freezes up and I had to reluctantly pull the plug on the computer (I usually use my computer using my AC adapter). When it rebooted the computer, I froze again for the second time when I did run it in Safe Mode. I finally got irritated and pulled the plug again. Finally, I booted for the third time and managed just fine. I know that I am not supposed to pull the plug but it wasn’t responding for a few minutes. What are the possible consequences if it keeps freezing up and I do not have any choice but to pull the plug? Any advice on how to prevent it freezing up in the first place.

after you turn on the power of your laptop, immediately and repeatedly push the key designated for the POST setup. once inside the POST, press the key for the "Load Fail-Safe Setting" or the likes. save, and exit, and see if it boots. another one, after the POST page loads, immediately and repeatedly push the key designated (commonly as F8) to get the display for the Windows Advanced Options menu, then choose the "Last known good configuration" option. laptop, i assume it has a cd or dvd drive. boot with your OS installation disk, run Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r good luck!

This is interesting. However, I am ot much into computer technical terms so I am wondering what is POST? If you can enlighten that for me, I can understand better your response.

POST is Power-On Self Test meaning the moment you turn on your computer or laptop (where you see bios message).

you should ask an IT specialist on why your hard disk freeze, there are many possibilities why it freeze. the sooner you do that the better, because if you keep pulling the plug like that, there is a chance another part on your laptop could break.

Instead of pulling the plug off, you may just press and hold the power button and after several seconds, your computer will turn off. Then just turn it on again. You may also try your first responder's suggestions. Good luck!

I would like to try that. It is quite simpler to do although I don’t know how far my patience would take. Does moving the computer got to do with it? My sibling insisted of relocating the computers to make more light.
