Do you feel....that we you are very unlucky, to be born in this century.Ever wish you were a part of a different generation.
Present is so boring,In the future there will be time machines,so if we feel bored,we can travel to a different time, which we like.I feel like, being trapped in this time;
If the world is not going to end, there is every chance that time machine will be invented, sooner or later.
I don't know why time travelers from the future are not visiting us... or are they visiting us all the time but making us forget?
Past is very beautiful, quiet, fresh and greyscale. But ,.. I like future more, because past, present, future, every time will be just one click away.

I feel am too lucky because i live in this world and i love and enjoy living in this this wonderful world and peaceful world. If i were not born in this world i could enjoy my life, which i enjoy now. If i were not born in this world i would miss my parents, my friends, my relatives and all other ,who live with in the present.

One seems to get comfortable in whatever era they are living presently. However...in learning and listening about the past times...if you lived there you'd be happy as you are here. It would be all you know so you'd like it too. Sad thing is that in school these days, they don't teach to much history other than politics and the main points in time. THey don't teach kids about when things were invented like the refrigerator and radio and even TV so kids don't know what they are missing or how their parents grew up or things that were done back then on the family level etc. My 12 yo GD didn't even know about The Alamo battle that gave Texas independence...they hadn't taught her that by end of 6th grade..nor did she have but a few days about the civil war and then it was only the topic battles and the end..no details about as to why it was even fought! Nothing about the "roaring 20's" or D-day or segragation. Kids are missing so much these days.

Oh so sweet!!!You will not miss anybody, because in that world also you will have equally loving parents, relatives, friends etc.I am sure that you are leading a happy carefree life. But think about others(like me) who are under privileged,do you really want to live in world full of injustice, inequality and POLITICIANS?

THe present is so complicated. Things are changing so fast..I can't keep up! I mean a cell phone (and I hate cell phones!) change every other month and everyon goes out and buys the new version! Books are on a electronic block you hold in your hand..you can't turn the pages and can't dogear where you left off. Everything is so electronic and things break and repairs are expensive. I like the internet but again..it is getting out of hand too..can't do anytihng on any site without opening an account...new user name, new password. THen you got hackers and ID theft and the more you are on the internet the more info is being stored on you. Good grief, I can't remember the last time I talked to someone and they didn't say "I was on Facebook..." and things like that. Coupons..can't get them from the manufacture anymore...gotta go join their facebook page! And one the list goes..endlessly!
I grew up in the 60's as a kid, early 70's in high school. Those were the best years ever.I would love to go back and be an adult in the 50's or 60's. Granted I know things back then weren't all rosey red, but I thinkt he family unit was strong then...the 70's is when I notice the family unit on it's last legs. the 80's hit and it was all soccer and daycare!
Would I like to go back then with what I know now? Part of me says you bet I would! NOt only knowing where to make the most money to support my family, but also where to live, and things to have (and have not!) and don't make the mistakes I made then and know better about life. I also am on the shy side and let people walk all over me and I have been learning not to allow that and I'd go back with what I know now about standing up for myself and my years in school would be different! I know I'd be happier if I had known then what I know now!
And even tv was better back then. I don't hardly even watch it these days as it is so disgusting, violence s8x, killing, murders, divorce etc. No good family sitcoms. No good hour dramas. I watch Gunsmoke daily now and it is FUN!!! Some silly stuff, some serious but always right, good and honest!
I love reading time travel books where people go back in time kind of my mistake...I have a few that are good..keep the book and get them out every now and athen and read them again. Nice way to get away from the madness for a few minutes of calmness and excitment!

You are so lucky to witness this transition. But for people like me,nothing is changing,My world has been the same since the day one in my 'diary'.Doing the same thing,i have always been doing. There is nothing interesting going on,in this place.
I know 60s and 70s and even 80s were so good, when i see it in movies or read about in books there is a strange paining sensation in my chest. And the music of that period..always brings tears to my eyes.

Well I don't know how old you are, but you are right..those born late 90's a after probably don't see anything different. Everything has been electronic and mechanicalized for 20 years or more. Have you ever played a "board game" or just hand held electronic games? You are missing out on all the fun if you have never played Monopoly with the board and paper money! Now Monopoly comes with a debit card thing...good grief, talk about taking all the fun out of a game!
Things like magazine subscriptions as being the main way of staying in touch with the world...as opposed to the internet...was just a wonderful personal time to sit in your room and read your magazine by yourself and enjoy it and then take it to school or next door to share with friends...now we sit in front of the computer screen and read and have nothing! Lot of fun to show the pictures and pass them around and turn the pages and all!
Life is really different now that in previous, even just recent, decades. And yeah, the music of the 70's was fantastic and one of the very few genres to continue to be playd these days...70's and the 60's music are still popular, but I dont' hear to much heavy metal anymore!

Friend, you should start thinking about it soon. They say "necessity is the mother of invention".Who knows by thinking about future/past,you may feel an urge to go there, and you may end building a time machine. When more people start to think about this, the chances are more?!! right?Thats why I've started this discussion, but sadly more people are happy with what they are forced to have "present".

I wish I was born in the future but a future where humans have balance between technology and nature,in other words, no pollution. i want to be in that future where there is no more wars. I want that future where humans gets to colonize planets and our lifespan is now longer than average. i want to be in that future where aging can be reversed cos i want to be a teen again.

Born in this century is the perfect time of me because I feel very blessed and lucky. In this present life I admit that lots of problems, sadness and troubles that came and out into my life but all of these made me strong and a better person. This present life of mine brought lots of joy and success in m life. Maybe my family is not perfect but I have loving mother who always there to protect and love me anytime. Also I met my husband in this century whose really makes me happy and do anything for my safety. I dont want to live in the past because I feel that past was very scary because of non stop war, lack of democracy and freedom. I also dont want to live on the future because I am sure lots of people will become more powerful and want to own the world by creating lots of electronic machines and gadget that might used to invade our privacy. This century was perfect because we have freedom to do whatever we want without limitations.

Yeah, you are right!! But I still feel past was better, yes there were bloody wars and violence, but one is not forced to take part in any of these,if a person wanted to live a normal life,he had that choice. But today, the world has become so small there is no place to hide, and there is no escape.
And about family..Most people like this 'age' because they like their family so much,I don't think its reason enough.I think its a silly excuse and a deliberate attempt to suppress nostalgia, but what if,you were born with all the essentials and to the same family,in the past. Then will you change your mind?

Hi friend, i never feel in this sort. I am happy to live in this century. As we have lot of high tech gadgets and our life is very simple using it. In previous days we don't have this kind of facilities.

I do sometimes wish that I was born a couple of years ago, because then I might not have had as much of a problem getting a job as I'm having at the moment. Currently, I have a degree, but I don't have a very good job because the ones that I was aiming for were all taken because there are so many people with good qualifications. Also, the economy is awful right now, and I wish that I had been able to buy my first house a couple of years ago when the banks were lending money to people instead of now where they're not really doing anything about it.

You know, I think most eras would seem dull if we lived in them. And if they weren't dull then they would be downright frightening. World War II for example.
Sometimes I wish that I lived in the Renaissance era of knights and lords and ladies, beautiful art, and awesome dresses. But I know I''m romanticizing the period, and there were a lot of bad things happening in that era too. As for the future, I don't think I even want to see it. I really don't think that time travel will ever be possible, and I hope it isn't because I think the past needs to be put to rest and remain as it is.

I have thought of this so many times in my 55 years on this earth. I so wished I lived in the past. Life was simplier and I believe people were kinder. I especially loved the way the females dressed with the long dresses, hats etc... I love the horse drawn carriage. Maybe working on a farm which I know is not easy work but its such a fulfilling job, I believe. Life today is just so about the material stuff you can gain and how good you have to look for society to accept you. Kids are not out playing they are in front of a the TV or computer playing games. I remember as a child enjoying going out and playing cowboy and indians, playing ball, or hide and seek. This is part of the reason for the obesity in this Country, including fast food restaurants. Give me the past anyday because today and the future do not look real good to me.

Yes all the time. But I am not bored of the present. I love my life now. I wish I had experience England in the 17th and 18th century. Or India in the 15th and 16th. I wish to be born and reborn in every part of the world, again and again, just to live a new life every time. Wouldn't that be exciting? I mean, I am not saying I want to live in the war, or the apartheid, but I want to see how life was in every part of the world, in all the centuries.

I sometimes wish I was born a few decades, even centuries back. Of course, I would not have all the comfort I get today, but I think that people were more profound in their feelings and relationships. And that would make a perfect world to me. Their values were stronger than today and they kept fighting for what they wished.

I think I am happy living at the present. I do not know what will happen if I born in the past or the future. I have not think about it. I think I should think about living in the past and also in the future.
