Acceptable accommodation and the best places ever stayed

For me acceptable accommodation is one that is clean and simply furnished. I can make some small changes like I moved some ornaments so my daughter didn't break them in a city apartment. I like to have either a double bed and two single beds or three single beds. I travel with my disabled son and my daughter. I took my disabled son to the Garden Route and we stayed in a carriage on an old train overlooking the beach. It was a wonderful place to stay because it had the splendid view. Wow! A sea view is something I can't normally afford. I traveled to Belize and stayed in a tree house. That was ever so special because it was a dream place to stay. I was rustic and comfortable. One acceptable accommodation I had stayed in was a guest house in Colombia. It had a room that was clean, tidy and well furnished. It was on the ground floor which was important due to my disabled son not being able to walk. I liked its location, a few blocks walk from the beach. Which acceptable accommodation have you stayed in? Can you say what the best places you have stayed were like?

Hi maximax8, I don't have much opportunity to travel other countries, I've only seen Hongkong and London, and of course our country...And as for you, I've never felt like home when I am nearby beach...Me and my son always loves the water, and relaxes us a lot...It is as if all your worries were being washed away... ... As long as the accommodation is okay, a fully furnished one, I am more than contented... Happy mylotting...

Hi Sharie. I am glad that you have seen Hong Kong and London. It seems like you and your son like a room that has a bathroom. I hope what you mean about water being relaxing. I think you feel happy in clean and tidy accommodation that has an economical price.

I love the idea of the tree house. That must have been amazing.

Yes, the tree house was the best place to stay in and very memorable. It was the most special and amazing experience ever. It was in a rural spot within walking distance of a town.

I don't normally bother about what kind of place I stay in as long as it is clean and tidy from the people before us. I used to be quite picky when I was younger, but then I joined a youth group and stayed in all manner of hostels and things like that, so it just made me appreciate clean running water where we were, and now the only thing that I would expect from a place to stay is a bed and some kind of bathroom, even if you do have to share it with other rooms. I love travelling so I don't have the money to be all that picky about the place we stay in.

It is wonderful to hear that the youth group stays made you appreciate running water and not mind simple plus economical accommodation. I think that clean is encouraging and tidy can be pleasing.

I have traveled since I was young and age has a lot to do with the kind of acommodation I need. I have been in comfortable campings in Europe and in nice and clean rooms with a concrete floored bathroom in Colombia. Now I love the luxury I can have due to my timeshare. I can sleep in apartments with all sorts of luxuries for a reasonable amount of money if I can get other friends to share the payment. The resorts I´m going lately are all 5 stars, with pools and jacuzzi. I tried twice to send you a picture, but the site did not let me.

Thanks for your wonderful response and efforts to send me a picture are appreciated. I like the sound of your time share accommodation. I am keen on swimming pools and jacuzzi experiences. It seems like you have changed with your age and the sort of accommodation you like. Yes, camping was great in your younger days. Now you deserve five star luxury.
