what are your thoughts and/or person opinions on the school systems now-a-days? i don't agree with most of how they do things. i was forced to drop out of school and get my GED due to health problems. i missed too many days of school because of being sick, doctor appointments ect. the school told me that i either drop out then or i stay in school until i turned 21 in may of my "senior year" in which case i would be kicked out of school only 1 month before i was set to graduate and i would have to get my GED anyway. i do not think that was right of them and after i dropped out i got to thinking and their math was WRONG... if i passed my classes the next year i would have turned 20 in may of my senior year and NOT 21.

As a professor, with 25 years of teaching experience, i think, it is time to totally change the education system from the present "teacher friendly" approach to "student friendly" system. That will solve most of the problems of student irregularities, ill health problems, dropouts due to problems and so on.

Sorry to hear that you are dropped out from your school. As you mentioned your health condition is not good at that time. Hope you are fine now. Now a days the school system is like a money making opportunity. Lot of persons are interested in starting private schools. We can see a school in every street. This kind of persons target the toddlers and little kids and started nursery and primary schools for the little kids. They collect a huge donation from the parents. Even play school is requiring donation and a huge admission fees. They collect various fees like book fee, admission fee, stationary fess, exam fees, lab fees, van fees and so on. It is really hard to list out all the fees of a kinder garden student. With this modern trend, this kind of schools teach their lessons using computers and charge a separate fee for it. Really parents are struggling a lot to pay the fees of their kids. This kind of schools must concentrate in their education system and give their best in the teaching activities rather than collecting a lot of fee from the parents. They must realize that education is not a business and it is the future of the little kids and come forward to give the quality education and avoid concentrating in the money making systems with their fee structure.

I think that's a hard one. They should have some kind of alternative place where you could have graduated and still got your actual high school diploma. But also I wouldn't want anyone older than 20 going to school with my 15 year old high school student if I had one. I do have two younger girls that will be there before too long. I do see the reason in them not letting you attend school after a certain age. But in your situation and others like it there should be more options.

i can understand their reasons for not wanting anyone over 21 there but they really should have more options for people with legitament excuses

I am hoping when my children get older that they can go to private school on a scholarship. I am not a fan of public schools. Things they do blows my mind. No one will tell my children what to eat and not to eat, that is MY job not theirs. No one will tell my kids they cannot pray before they eat and they cannot have their Bible with them if they want it. In private school they are okay with religious activities and they have a lot more attention on the children because there are less of them there... I don't think what they did to you was fair either. They should have given you another choice in the matter. It wasn't like you were just not showing up, you had a legitimate reason for it.
