I don't how common this topic has been, but I can't help asking. Don't you think we Indian's are ignorant fools or is being manipulated seriously. I say its the first one. We all get a chance to vote then and there, but we don't use that mighty power to decide the fate of India. Instead we go behind the news and sensations created by media, judge the candidates by the hotness of the news. I say we are ignorant because, even with so much allegations and scams under there belt, most of the corrupt politicians are still in power and they are becoming more powerful. How did this happen? According to me, these politicians are using one habit of man to there favor and our devastation. Any guess what that is? Its the ability of man to forget. Yeah, we all do forget things. Just check, what is the hot news right now?? What was the hot topic three months back?? You can easily say whats hot today or this week or this month, because the media keeps you reminding about it all the time, wont allow you to forget it. Three months back something else was news, but the media has killed the news now and want you to go after something else. Don't be a puppet in hands of media and politicians. If this country is to progress, each individual must take the responsibility for at least one day, the day when he is to decide who should govern him or her, because that will be only day when your decision counts. Evaluate all candidates and select the best one. Make you stance very clear. If no one is good, don't select anyone and thus force the campaigning parties to give you only the best. A political party is to form a government with purpose of serving people and not with the purpose of service themselves. If they fail to do so once, never give them a chance again, cause they will fail you again. Currently, I don't see anyone promising though. All parties are looking to strengthen the party. Nobody cares about the common man. One more point, which is pointless. India's population is 113 Crore plus... that means the most abundant resource here in India is man power. In B. Com I have learned that when supply increases, demand reduces. Keep in mind that it is a universal law :-)

first off all, nice discussion. I think we Indians do not accept new things and we do not want change, and that can be the reason. we choose those candidates who we vote regularly and we forget about other new candidates and even vote for parties not for that person. in India we have problems. orthodox people. racism. i think these are two reasons which are harmful for Indian progress because people do not want change and if anything new happens they just reject it without thinking about the results, benefits, and requirements. Racism is thing because of that politician can feed their stomach and they never want to remove racism factor from Indians they want we should fight with each other and they would rule. they are following the British's rule "Break and Rule" - they show their sympathy and support for a specific religion and they get their vote from people and they come or get the seat which they want. I think if we over come Racism, corruption, diversity (rich and poor) and other things we can be the listed in developing country.

I think, today media is very strong and that is why we should support media as well because media tells us whatever happening in the world and what is happening in India and Indian politics. now we are discussing about India and Indian politics through a internet (Mylot) media. Remember Anna Hazare anshan, it was successful because of Media like Facebook and news channels, that time media stand up with Mr.Anna hazare and we could see the live footage all the happening because of the media. Media played an important role in our freedom as well.

I do not agree with your first point fully. Yeah it true to limit that we are very very orthodox people, but we are changing along with rest of the world. The only problem is the changes that we accept most is negatives and not positives. Here in India the constitution has divided us under the titles of State, Language, Religion, and Caste. My SSLC (10th) certificate has all those details. That is were the govt starts its wretched technique of dividing people under the above titles and then they call it unity in diversity. According to me, the constitution of India is 50 plus years old. It is a well known fact that in the past 50 plus years, mankind has progressed nearly 100 times faster than what we have done in the past 150 years or so (or may be during the entire history of mankind). Technology, living style, living standards, needs all have changed and we still run our country using the constitution which was written and assembled by patriots at that time. The system was perfect at that time because the society was is such a peril with violence, discrimination, religion, riot and all, but now the situations have changed and I believe there should be some major amendments in the Legislation of India. Cast based reservation should be taken away and income based reservation must be brought into effect. Government official should be put in a loop so that if they make a mistake or any fraudulent activity, we can allocate responsibility. There is a reason why I said that, I am from Kerala, here when we buy a new vehicle we pay road tax for 15 years to RTO, but we can question the RTO regarding the condition of the road. The road are maintained by PWD, but we can't hold them responsible we paid the road tax to RTO and not PWD. What PWD do is they take loan from world bank through the govt and repair roads or create new one [that's what they claim :-)]. The final picture is the govt is in debt to world bank, that is indirectly we individuals are in debt, and nobody knows where the road tax we have paid has gone. About the media part.. I will come back.. got to go.. cya...

I share the same concerns, but can netizens do,others are not thinking about.. what kind of Democracy India really is?India is not at all,an efficient democracy. It is one of the weakest democracy, yet our corrupt, greedy, sinistrous political jokers makes us believe that somehow. If any organisation raises their voice against them, they will quickly be termed as anti parliament. Why India is a failed democracy? 1) Multi party system 2) Caste system...caste based votes 3) Votebank politics and favoritism 4) Reservations based on religion. 5) Media that always find reasons to support the union government. 6) 99% of Indians are fools and can easily be manipulated including me and 1% are extremely cunning and wicked. 7) CBI tool is used to keep the coalition intact. All the leaders has some CBI inquiry against them,so they are forced to support " ".And they say they are "secular". 8) India is ruled by a non Indian,so we can't except much sensitivity. There are more reasons but I forgot,I am one of the Indian fools who forget everything thats not hot in the news. What happened in Neyyattinkara(kerala) Bi election? Can we still be proud?

Generally, the main problem that is hindering the growth of India is Corruption. There are two kinds, corruption by politicians and the other is corruption by government official. These two are the only problem that we are facing. Political corruption, in this politicians put in all there effort to make money when the are in power, though that is a regular process, the politicians who keep on doing such things keep on changing, they keep on rotating and we the idiots just keep on complaining year after year. Now the second type is the corruption of government officials. See, though the ruling politicians keep on changing, the government officials are always the same. Once they get a job in the government department, they wont keep rotating their post like the politicians. There is cause of our major problem. Once into govt service, it like life taken for granted. They will work as they like, they will take bride (only majority of them and not everyone), they will behave without respect to an Indian citizen whom they serve. It is at this level that we should bring some change. I am working in a private firm and I work 8 hours a day and I will have to work hard to get my salary (not complaining about working hard). After a month of hard work I will get my salary from which govt will deduct tax like professional tax and income tax and also PF contribution, which also goes to Govt only and they govt uses this money to feed these pigs (I am criticizing only those who doesn't do their job) who just sits and relaxes and eat our money and also take bribe from us. Thinking deeply, can we just blame them alone. They are taking money and corrupting the whole system because we are there to give them money (as bribe) to get our things done. As I told you before, its all pointless, but still we can lessen our burden by discussing and choosing aptly when our day come, the day for voting.
