Egypt just recently held their first democratic elections. Do you think the elections will change the circumstances in Egypt? Will life improve for the Egyptian people? Why or why not? Please share your thoughts.

Hello MandaLee Unfortunately I do not know enough about Eygptian politics to give a knowledgable answer on this. However, I think that it is significant that Egypt has had its first democratic elections and I am curious as to how things will go for that country. I fear that things will not go well, as I wonder who had the power to get elected in the first place. What motivated them to get elected? I hope that some of our myLot friends from that area will offer their opinions here. Peace I love the world!!

The people's choice is a good thing, whether we agree with that choice or not. There will be changes but a lot of the day to day living will be the same. People still work, still eat, still sleep, still go about their daily routine. It is through time and opportunity that change happens. If the people take this and make the positive changes needed, they have the opportunity to make a difference in their own lives. If they squander their opportunity, they can only expect more of the same thing they have been suffering under. Only time will tell.

Yes, the people's choice is what matters most. I hope the people capitalize on this opportunity and make the changes needed.

Hi, If the people take advantage of the opportunity, things could change for the better. Only time will tell.
