As preparing myself to work,I do glimpse to the TV.The news was about two people from different places hit by lightning and died. The first one was hit in a small hut with other people inside too. They was just about to cross as river when heavy rain came with strong thunder and lightning so they decided to stay in a small hut/house nearby. Then all of a sudden lightning strike the hut. They were sent to the nearest hospital for immediate medication but one person died. The other was strike and hit by lightning while catching insect in an open field. Quite scary and terrible that we can never know if lightning may strike us when it comes. Condolence to the family of the victims.

There are many accidents like that in the village in the middle of Vietnam. People go to a field to work and then they may got that type of an accident when it is raining.

It usually happened into high elevated places or open field places. So we better try to stay away from these places wheb lightning is about to come.

Yeah, it was in the news yesterday and it's really saddening to hear accidents like this. Those who survived in the said accident told a reporter that they have decided to seek shelter in the hut because of heavy rains with thunder and lightning. One of the survivor had told a reporter that while inside the hut one of them used his cellphone to call someone. Some said that the cellphone having a metal part could have attracted the lightning and strike the hut.

Yeah, because the hut being the highest in elevation and the only shelter I guess in that place is prone to lightning strike. Experts says that the most likely hit by lightning are things that are elevated like buildings and trees. But maybe the cellphone having metal parts could also be the cause because of it's transmitting/receiving ability.

Yeah they said that it's the cellphone that attract the lightning but experts says that it must be the location of the hut.

Such incident which is reported in the news channels really tries to show the effect and the power of the natural happenings. Really i am also much sad to hear this news and the only thing we can do is just stay away from them and let us not give our life by such incidents.

A lighting and a thunder is a natural incident which will takes place in a splash. It takes place and ends in a very few seconds but still it has a great power. It has the ability to reduce a life from this earth. They are really dangerous. So to avoid such deaths it is better to sit inside a metallic surface like car. The electric flux inside a closed conductor is zero and this is the simple fact in science which will help you stay away from lighting.

Yes, I was able to catch that news also and I was so sad. Until now, I am still afraid of thunder. If ever I am get caught in a heavy rain with accompanying loud thunder and lightning, I really have to run under a building. When the loud thunder would come, I would have to count up to 10 so that I will know if this is near or far from my location. When I counted up to 10 after the loud thunder and the lightning won't follow immediately, it means that this thing is not so near so I don't have to worry that much.

The former probably couldn't have been prevented, unless the hut would have had a lightning rod. The latter, however, was avoidable. When it is storming, seek shelter. Running around in an open field, playing golf and other such activities during a thunder storm put you at risk of being struck and killed. People need to maintain a healthy respect for nature. Unfortunately, many do not.
