Twitter updates every few seconds. What do you think?

So I recently joined Twitter to see what the hype is all about. Some of my friends are there of course and I notice just how they find the need to update very often. Some even tweeted praising God in the middle of what seemed like a spiritual experience(a church event or something). Not to say it's wrong but do you think it's healthy to do it all the time, so to speak? I almost tweeted back saying "You know what Jesus isn't your God, twitter is" but I shut up anyway. But on the other hand I do find it quite fun, it's an amazing way to keep in touch with your friends. But it feels like you're in it 24/7 because you and your friends update 24/7. Really guys, seriously? What are your thoughts?

I actually find it quite unhealthy updating any kind of status whether it be twitter, facebook, bebo or any other site which has a status / message board of some kind with what you're doing that much. For example before coming to mylot this evening I read a tweet by a woman who was bragging about just buying a coffee.... Like who cares really? I for one could care less what people are eating, where their driving to, what their wearing and so many more ridiculous status posts I've seen on twitter lately. I do however use it to read posts by game developers and the likes. That's just my opinion anyways.

I couldn't agree more. I just read another one saying "I just had the best time sorting out clothes." Seriously? Who cares that you were sorting out clothes I'd rather hear about the job interview they went for.....

Haha really some people get obsessed with their own words on social sites. Though I wouldn't deny that I'm tempted to do the same thing. But I somehow find it unnecessary when people post something that people would not understand in a thousand years unless they explain more. For instance, posting "wow my hair looks good I hope it stays like this" but seriously how am I supposed to know how your hair looks like if you don't tell me by showing a pic or something. And another example "I guess it's just our luck. Thanks guys!" - WHAT IS THAT. A SUMMARY OF YOUR DAY??? We won't understand completely if this person doesn't say more. And it doesn't seem to bother her either that nobody really get it. Sorry for babbling haha.

It would be good if people post updates about useful things like what's going on around the town, a cool new restaurant and stuff because I'd be interested to know. But it's ridiculous when it's too much. Like the colour of your sneakers you just bought today.

I have joined twitter almost the same time I joined facebook, it wasn't that big then, almost none of my friends heard of it. When everyone else's started using twitter, that was the time I tried to use it, unfortunately just like mylot then, i just couldn't get the hang of it. I still don't use twitter til now. lol

Haha I found Facebook more useful than twitter. Obviously though, if you have facebook you don't need twitter that much. It's one or the other I think.

Haha, yes I guess it works that way, also if you are about gossips and updates on your favorite celebrities or bands or artists, then twitter is definitely for you. ;)

Twitter is one of the most popular social networking today. It is interesting to update your status now and then so that your friends will know your situation. However, I don't think you have to update it so frequently for meaningless stuff.

Twitter I'm not fanatic about. It's just a short message verison of facebook, and I can use facebook for tweeting anything I want. And there are people misusing it so much. I don't care about when people poop and stuff :D. I only use it for joining giveaways and stuff :).

I'm getting hooked on twitter nowadays because simply bored and just feel like laying my eyes on something. Plus, people don't tend to say much on twitter there are words limit per post. Make things easier to waste time scrolling away.
