no "hot" topics today?

Did you notice it too? When I clicked the "hot" button for hot topics nothing came out. Is this another glitch? Or isn't there any topic hot enough to merit being called "hot"? I wonder. Sometimes I notice that topics under "Today's Top" also appear in "hot" topics. Anyway, I am just curious how topics become "top" or "hot". Is it based on the number of responses? I think so. What do you think?

No Today's Top topics because no topics. MyLot has been down for 20 hours. The last discussion to be posted before it went down was: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2673023.aspx
Nobody really knows how these categories are decided. It may be to do with the number of responses or the quality of them but it may also have something to do with the Discussion Rating System as well.

I don't think it has to do with the number of responses because several top posts that I've encountered do not have many responses. Maybe it has to do with the number of views? And perhaps it concerns the rating system as well.
